These musicians and their talents were just as strong as the ladies, and played a huge part in their sucess. I'm officially 50 (as of this week). I grew up watching the original Sparkle movie, with Lonnette McKee. It was my FAVORITE movie, as a teenager. Growing up in the 90s, OF COURSE, I loved En Vogue! Who didn't! :) But I also like this video because it has an original cast member of Sparkle- Dorian Harewood; you can see him take a sip of a drink, then later mouthing the words to the song in the beginning at the beginning of the video. Nice that they would include him in the video AND that he would accept.

Er, wait, what? These ladies are indeed fab, but better than Aretha? I doubt even En Vogue themselves would agree with that statement. Aretha was a human vocal chord all by herself, man!! C'mon now, these are extremely talented ladies, but slightly manufactured. Top class, indeed, but you're talking down Miss Aretha?!😮

@@jenniferslowley4319 I am a huge fan of Aretha and have been since the 1960s. Don't get me wrong. This particular song was not one of Aretha's best songs performed by her IMO. I have heard Aretha do so much better on so many other songs. En Vogue knocked this song out of the park for me. And of course, kudos to Curtis Mayfield with his superb song writing.
