...good info Chad...👍 One thing to keep in mind...just because the Regent uses 220V doesn't mean it has more power than the Envoy. A 1hp 110v motor has the same power as a 1hp 220v motor...1hp is equal to 1hp... I did look up the specs on your website and found the Envoy is about 1.5hp vs the Regent's 2.0hp...so you were correct that the Regent has more power, but again, not due to the voltage...you should advertise both voltage and hp...👍 Matt

so I'd need a different outlet for regent; not just house power?

@@kimberlywendt5241 ...yeah, you would a different outlet for the Regent...a 220v outlet... But Chad stated that the Regent has a 220v motor so it has more power than the 110v motor in the Envoy. That's not necessarily true...a 2hp 110v motor has more power than a 1hp 220v motor... While Chad was correct about the Regent having more power, he should have stated that the Regent has a 2hp motor while the Envoy has a 1.5hp motor, so the Regent has more power...he could then mention that the Envoy is 110v and the Regent is 220v... Power isn't dependent on voltage...it's dependent on a number of factors... Matt

Great point!

Correct, you would need to upgrade your electrical (the outlet will look the same) to an outlet that provides that increased voltage :-) so it is definitely something big to consider when deciding what lathe you want.

Yes good distinction for sure!

Hi. I am really interested in purchasing the Coronet Regent 18" x 24". I saw a review on KZbin that when you press the emergency stop it doesn't stop the lathe right away but it takes some time until it stops. Do you have an idea if they fix this issue? Thank you.

Thanks! The E-stop shuts the power off and it does take a few seconds for it to stop (momentum) as it is shutting the power down, not a "break" like one might think it would be. As far as we know, this is common for e-stops across lathes. This is the lathe that we turn on here at the shop and we love it. If you are local (Arizona) you are welcome to come down and see how it performs, and if you have any questions you can always call the store as well 480-590-2003 or email us at support@turnerswarehouse.com as it is the quickest way to get a response from us :-)

Just be a little more patient mate. Any lathe with a instant break stop will just undo your chuck right off the headstock . All my chucks have a set screw to counter this, though I find them far to fiddly so I can't be arsed.
