I've been searching forever for the song... I originally heard it in (believe it or not) an old Laurel & Hardy movie from the 30's called "The Bohemian Girl." I've loved this song since I was a very little girl in the 50's.......

"Believe it or not": I do believe. I myself have been haunted by this tune since I heard it in my childhood in Vietnam, in the fifties, through watching the "Bohemian Girl" with Laurel and Hardy! And it was only in the nineties that I rediscovered it through Enya's mesmerizing rendition.

I don’t understand how beautiful this song is…it’s like literal Beauty in song form. Everything about it is so beautiful. Everything is as beautiful as it could possibly be. The background music, her voice, the backup humming, the melody…it’s like whoever made this song sat down one day and thought “Hmmm…I wonder how I could make the most beautiful song of all time.” Even the overall feeling of this song is just pure beauty, pure grace and pure peace….It’s unreal….I feel like this is one of the only songs that truly makes me think of Heaven and what I think Heaven will be like….This song is really so Heavenly. I guess that’s a good way to describe this song…Heavenly.

I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls With vassals and serfs at my side, And of all who assembled within those walls That I was the hope and the pride. I had riches all too great to count And a high ancestral name. But I also dreamt which pleased me most That you loved me still the same, That you loved me You loved me still the same, That you loved me You loved me still the same. I dreamt that suitors sought my hand, That knights upon bended knee And with vows no maidens heart could withstand, They pledged their faith to me. And I dreamt that one of that noble host Came forth my hand to claim. But I also dreamt which charmed me most That you loved me still the same That you loved me You loved me still the same, That you loved me You loved me still the same
