Hey folks! After months since I made dozens of Enzonis since I learned this recipe here, I had a idea and decided to try a variant using fresh cherries (not the canned ones!), instead of grapes. I removed the stems and seeds from 5 charries and muddled them same recipe. I think it turned out nice!

I might have used way too sweet grapes as mine was a tad too sweet for my taste (and I have a sweet tooth!). I used Gordon's. I even used "American" yellow lemons (and not what we Peruvians call lemons, which you call limes). I'll make another one without the syrup.
@taboolexicon3 жыл бұрын
I made a few of these, and they were delicious. Then, I got to thinking about some Grenadine I had. I substituted Grenadine for the simple syrup, and now it's my favorite incarnation. I call it the Grenzoni. Wifey commented on how dangerously drinkable it was. :)

I really love this cocktail. I also love a Negroni. It's nice to have so much variation for the sake of complimentary cocktails. This is a bright version of a dark drink. I enjoy it with any grapes I have on hand; my wife buys them sometimes, so I always make a few while they're there. Always have the other ingredients at the ready. On another note, I believe I've adopted some of your techniques as far as building and shaking. I like the little flip and shake. That's about as much flair as I'm comfortable with, and that's pushing it. Thank you for your awesome videos.

This is one of my all time favorites as well! If you like this one, you should also try Sam Ross' cocktail the 'Too Soon?' which is the same template, but with Cynar and orange slices instead of Campari and grapes: Too Soon? 1 oz Gin 1 oz Cynar 3/4 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz simple syrup 2 thin orange slices Add orange slices to tin, add all other ingredients, add ice, shake & strain. I love them both, and think it's a great template for amaro-based sours. It makes sense really that the best way to get a Negroni-like experience from a sour is to split the base-spirit with your amaro, since a Negroni is just a split-base version of a Martini/Manhattan template when you get down to it (as pointed out in the Death & Co. book the 'Cocktail Codex').
