@@galadballcrusher8182 nothing to argue about its just a fact he isnt a MC (main character) in the first movie nor was he ever meant to be. Johnny literally killed the role so hard they gave him so much more screne time and importance. it was only in PoC 2 onwards does sparrow become a MC. the evidence comes not only from the director and actor's mouths but from how we see elizabeth and will introduced and how focused everything is around those 2. even with sparrows added role they made sure to keep him solely as a plot vehicle.

Something I enjoy on rewatch is Jack's backstory being hinted at but never fully explained. "One small act is not enough to redeem a man..." "But it is enough to condemn him..." is about Jack's first act of 'piracy'- freeing a ship of slaves for which he was branded a pirate and results in his deal with Davy Jones.

You're a lot better at addressing depression than most people. Most say things like "it'll get better", but that's not how depression works. Hearing that isn't helpful, because it *DOESN'T* "just go away". A reminder to avoid the pitfalls of depression, like convincing yourself no one cares or that you don't matter, is actually helpful. Encouraging people not to give up, to get back up if they're knocked down, is actually helpful.

It's a crying shame that there's no sequel to a great adaptation of a book series with twenty books! And it's still not too late. They can film the later books with the older versions of the characters of Aubrey and Maturin and then go back and make the first books with younger actors.

I think the reason they were worried when she threatened to drop the medallion was that the coin due to having such a low weight could easily be caught up by the tide or a current and be swept away for them to never find again. Sure, they could dive into the water after it and could survive under water. However, even with the full moon, it would be considerably harder to see and find it in the area at night before the risk of being swept away could occur.

Speaking of pirates... If you haven't seen it already, you should check out the series 'Black Sails'. It is set during the Golden Age of Piracy and serves as a prequel to the famous Robert Louis Stevenson novel "Treasure Island" - which has served as the inspiration for pretty much every thing 'pirate' since it was written. It has it all - action, drama, comedy...great writing, great acting, intriguing characters. Even if you don't do a reaction to the series, I think you'd really get into it.

The upside down boat is watertight, that means it's airtight. A certain amount of oxygen gets trapped when upside down under water. You can try it with a cup in the sink. This gives a limited amount of breathing time. As long as they make it before the air runs out, theoretically, it would work. The boat would have been too buoyant for them realistically, but that's the theory. I used to do this with a bucket in the pool when I was a kid.
@torsteinminer4929
@torsteinminer4929 9 ай бұрын
The real answer is that it's a movie & that isn't possible in real life. The boat would have far too much buoyancy for them to hold down, and if they had a theoretical specialized boat heavy enough to not float up it would be far too heavy to move.

One of the biggest underated pirate comedy of all time is yellow beard, it has 3 out of 5 members of Monty Python, Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Madelyn Kahn, and Cheech n Chong, and I 💯 believe johnny Depp got a little of jack sparrow from yellow beard, and if you watch the curse of the black pearl and yellow beard to compare the 2 they really close in plot greatest pirate you ever heard of on a quest to get back his rightful plunder, and a support crew going on a quest, and just so underrated

yes its inconsistent that the undead pirates show feeling pain but the coin being dropped is different. walking under water is one thing but if something as small and light as a coin is dropped in the MIDDLE of the ocean, you could be walking the bottom for 1000+ years and not find it. it can get burried, it could drift away, it could get eaten, and who knows what else. diving for it is beyond a hail marry, if you dont catch it free fall or SOMEHOW catch it diving in, no chance you find just by swimming about.

Speaking of nostalgia, A (Dumb) TALE OF "YOU HAD ONE JOB!" I was a young teen when this came out. I'm from a small town with nothing to do for teens, so drinking was our pass-time. The movie theater was an hour walk from town and we had been drinking all day, but we were bored and "The pirate movie" looked good. We wanted to sneak in our bottle of booze so we nominated the the youngest (and drunkest) to hide the bottle of captain morgans and buy our tickets because we didn't want to be the ones to get caught with booze on our breath and possibly the booze on our person. The "nominated" was struggling to remember the name of the movie. He asked us several times to remind him what the title was, " Just ask for four tickets for Pirates of the Caribbean, that's all you gotta say. Then take the tickets and walk away. That's it! And try not to breath too much" We all had a seat nearby and we watched him stagger over to the employee (obviously wasted) in his best attempt to appear sober. We thought we had a problem when he froze for a minute and just stared at the person. "Ummm...can I get... four tickets for Captain Morgan and the Caribbean" MF'er was so paranoid and focused on the bottle of Cap'n under his hoodie, his thoughts slipped out. We got through 3/4 of the movie before we got kicked out because the "nominated" (14 year old) decided to hit on a woman, roughly 30 years his senior 🤷‍♂

11:35 A gallows (or less precisely scaffold) is a frame or elevated beam, typically wooden, from which objects can be suspended or "weighed". Gallows were thus widely used to suspend public weighing scales for large and heavy objects such as sacks of grain or minerals, usually positioned in markets or toll gates. The term was also used for a projecting framework from which a ship's anchor might be raised so it is no longer sitting on the seabed, riverbed or dock; "weighing [the] anchor" meant raising it using this apparatus while avoiding striking the ship's hull. In modern usage the term has come to mean almost exclusively a scaffold or gibbet used for execution by hanging. That’s how it’s used here in this scene: Jack has avoided execution by hanging by escaping.

Nothing wrong with watching a movie you already seen. The reason to rewatch them is because you know you’ll love it!

19:50 Put a glass upside-down into your sink or tub full of water. You'll see it retains a bubble of air. They did the same thing with that skiff. The trick is keeping it level and weighing enough to pull down and balance the bubble's pulling up to float.

Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) is actually Australian and grew up in the same area I was from, older people I know who knew him growing up speak of him fondly, he seems like a genuine guy!

Love this movie. Besides, I don't re-watches. As long as you (or any reactor) is honest, honest about being a first time watch or not and honest or genuine in their reactions, I am their. Besides, you are a good dude and a riot! 😁 The hard part about being depressed is I have already decided to check out, I now just try and find a reason not to do it every day, praying I do not run out of reasons. It is hard to convey that to anyone... friends, family, even help lines.

While it's not directly addressed how Gibbs went from working as part of Norrington's crew to being a drunkard in Tortuga, it does show him sneaking booze in a flask while aboard Norrington's ship in the beginning. He probably lost his job due to alcoholism.

The scene where Jack and Will are under the boat in the water is the same science as tipping a cup upside down and submerging it in water. It creates an air pocket inside the object allowing anything in it to breathe until the oxygen has dispersed.

Yeah depression is heavy and it's far from easy to deal with. I've been homeless since July 28th of '23, just me and my dog living out of my car, sleeping in the back at night. When I first discovered your channel it was with your Jurassic Park reaction, my favorite movie of all time. And I enjoyed your reaction enough to subscribe and keep checking back for more videos. I can only speak for myself, but you and many other content creators are the only people keeping me sane through all of this.
