This movie will always hold a special place in my heart because my Mother took me to see it when we were homeless. She knew how much I loved the Halloween movies and I had seen part 4 on Halloween night the year before. The next year my grandmother and her got into a fight and she kicked us out. I tried to go trick or treating but it was rainy, and the neighborhood was strange to me. Anyway, my mom picked me up while I was still in costume and surprised me by bringing me to the movies. I didn't think it would be possible because we had no money, but she made it happen. I overlook the fact that the movie is pretty bad because it means so much to me.

I wish I had a mom like that. I wanted to see Friday the 13th part 8 when I was 14 years old, the movie theater was right across the street from where we were staying at the time. It would have meant close to the world to me if she had taken me to go see it, I always wanted to see a Jason film with the theater experience, and this was the last one released by Paramount. It’s the little things, we’ll leave it at that. On Halloween 5, yeah, was never a Meyers fan. I did like part 4 though. The line the boy says kills me everytime….Ill be outside, upstairs in the attic 😂😂😂😂

I watched it a few years ago during the Covid lockdown, I thought it was incredible for all the grief it took at the time. The special effects are amazing! There have been a couple of books written about this franchise and how they came about making these movies. This movie just ended up with a director that didn’t want to listen and decided to do things his own way. And everyone on set pretty much disagreed. “Nobody is dancing to the same song”. Made my cry laughing. I had never noticed that before.

This director was brilliant. He has been just about the ONLY man to come along since who understood what Carpenter did in the original. It's hard to count Rosenthal, since some of his film has footage added directly by Carpenter. But among all the others, nobody came anywhere near to mimicking the approach of the original to the extent that Othenin-Girard did.

He diminished the role of Loomis in the second half of the film, which does not work. And he also flooded the movie with all manner of miscellaneous characters(all the rednecks and state police). Slasher movies thrive on a sense of isolation and intimacy. Having lots of extra people running around destroys this. He did well...but Othenin-Girard was SUBSTANTIALLY better...

I think this one, and the next one, have my favorite “Halloween” feel. The Halloween series has 4 different storylines. 1. H1 and H2 2. H1, H2, H4, H5, H6(best version is the theatrical version) 3. H1, H2, H-H20, H Resurrection 4. H1, H 2018, H Kills, H Ends The Halloween series originally meant to be a anthology which is why Halloween 3 is a different story. But when H3 was released they realized people wanted more Michael Myers. Also it’s 2 complete remakes by a director named Rob Zombie who came out with H 2007 and H2 2009.

Spot on! However (as a fellow lover of halloween films) i saw 6 in theaters oct 95. I was 15 and loooooved it..bought it on vhs. Then dvd..but when 6 cameout on bluray AKA the real cut...I said...holy crap. Theres a totally diff one with 33 min of new footage. All becuz the dumb director and studio showed halloween 6 to a theater full of dumb kids who said...huh? Duh? Dope dope duh? The director hated pleasence and said he was boring to watch so most got cut. Beginning..cut. ending. Cut. They did add gore to the theater version and a better score. But there's more plot holes in theatrical version than Swiss cheese. Its CRAZY how the original version is far better ..and I went 20 yrs not even knowing it. The plot may be weird. We allllll know why..no spoilers. But it at least made sense. H20 is just bad..5 kills I think and a HORRIBLE mask and stunt man who plays him. Part 8..horrible.mask and stunt man who plays him. Not eveb getting into zombies films. And then....we get halloween 2018. And thank God it was made partially by lifelong horror fan Danny Mcbride. Amazing movie..and kills? Oooo hell ya!!! I wish they got to make a new f13 SEQUEL. but nope. Its being handled by a non horror fan for a streaming service and its a tv show taking place in the 50s. My god how dumb can hollywood be..give the fans what they want!!!! I don't get to talk horror in the real world. All.my friends hate it.

To break it down for you, this series of films is like that series of 'Choose your own ending' books that we used to have as kids. There are now four separate and distinct universes that exists for these movies. Films 1,2,4,5 &6 are what's known as 'The Thorn' universe, all are connected and are direct sequels to one another. Films 7 & 8 are another universe that ignores films 4,5 & 6 where Laurie did not die and has no daughter. Rob Zombie's films are remakes of 1&2 and are not connected to Jamie Lee Curtis' series in any way. David Gordon Green's new trilogy are direct sequels to the 1st film only, ignoring everything that came after it.

The tattoo, which is the astronomical symbol Thorn, will be explained in the next movie which will conclude what is commonly called The Thorn Trilogy and this particular timeline in the Halloween series. I seen somewhere that this movie was so rushed into production that the script was literally being written as the film was being shot. i think its kinda dumb that the girl has some kind of power to feel all the shit happening to people but besides that issue i dont like this movie is one of my favorites and i loved your reaction to this movie

This movie has it's flaws but IDK if I'd say it's worse than Freddy 4 lol or Jason Takes Manhattan simply because Jason lost to a water sewage at the end of that movie lol like what? LOL. But still great reaction and one thing about Ghostface he's clumsy as hell the dude's always running into refrigerators, walls, tripping etc lol. Oh the curse of Michael will explain a lot regarding the tattoo and be the Michael you're looking for I think ;) Also, just so this helps you out a little more with Halloween there's different timelines. Original timeline is H1, H2, H4, H5, H6. Second timeline is H1, H2, H20, Halloween Resurrection Third timeline is H1, Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends Halloween 3 is it's own thing, originally Carpenter wanted to do an anthology series and be finished with Michael after the first 2 movies but he was so popular that the fans wanted more Michael which is why H3 did horribly. There's also the Rob Zombie Universe of Halloween which is it's own thing entirely as Michael is very different all I'll say.
