Arbitrary code execution, @@ChillFaceMeatball. It's when you glitch the game enough to let you rewrite its code on the fly, such as by accessing game state and internal variables & constants & jumps as inventory objects ( _Pokémon Yellow_ ) or by interacting with specific objects in specific ways at specific pixels on specific frames ( _Super Mario World_ ), or any number of other ways. Lets you do crazy stuff like rewriting variables, wrong warping directly to the credits by playing with Yoshi, or even reprogramming the game into an entirely different game on the fly, if you know what you're doing.

No specific ones come to mind, @@luckas5516. I know there are videos about reprogramming _Pokémon Yellow_ by mixing the game up enough that it puts its internals in your inventory (allowing you to change all kinds of things by manipulating them, letting you do things like, e.g., reprogram the game into a music player), and I _believe_ the most famous ACE of all is probably the _SMW_ wrong warp (I may be wrong about this, though). Don't recall any video names off the top of my head, though, sorry. I think there's a lot of ACE silliness for _Ocarina of Time_ , too, so it might be a good thing to search for.

I bought the game when it came out, played it all in 6 days, and had only just barely finished the game when this was posted. HOW DO PEOPLE DO THIS

if it's the only game they're playing and they don't have work, it's probably pretty easy. Balancing work, a social life and other games definitely takes up time in those 6 days

I got it the day it came out and got 100% in 2 and a bit days. It leaked 5 days prior to launch so a lot of people had time to mess with things, but all the major discoveries happened after the game came out. A LOT of people are in the speedruning discord all pooling resources to break this game, no single person is doing all the work.

@@jacketofdiamonds this trick isn't bad, but any% has been ruined quite badly by suthorn skip which is making people move to do All Dungeons instead which makes use of more of these cool wrong warps

@@jacketofdiamonds NoWW exist and are about 4:30 currently, lots of strats will be found over the weeks and months to improve that category since it's so long currently.

Since you can get the map back with link when you perform the link glitch, is it possible to perform the wrong warp with link? (Actually now that o think about it probably not cause you would need to perform the menu glitch again, unless their is a way to do it without a sign)

@@sonic7270 We can get map storage when switching sword form, but no one has got it (or tried?) with player controlled link. There is nowhere we are aware of in the prologue to do it and even so and we could have two links in null we would softlock as there would be no way through one of the puzzle rooms we need to help link through.

But is it faster to do it without Link, considering you've a significant lack of echoes at that point? (also how does one fight the underwater portion of the final fight without taking a detour to get some good aquatic echoes first?)

@@sinteleon link joins us for the whole dungeon except for one room we have to do ourselves. Also the underwater phase is an autoscroller, you can just do nothing and follow the boss until it reaches a specific point and then hit it once to end that phase (use an urchin)

@@myth1975 thought you actually had to fight during the autoscroller part, also thought Link didn't follow you in at all considering you just spawn inside the area (watched an actual speedun, understand the whole process more now)

how come, of all the places of the game, it warps you specifically to null?

It depends on the warp we cursor over in the overworld before triggering the warp. All the Overworld warps have and ID associated to them numbered 1,2,3,4... etc. This is their number in the overworld warp table so the game can look up that entry and get the data for what coordinates and room value to place Zelda after the warp. Now there is another table specific to all dungeon warps, it turns out that the entries in the dungeon table that match the IDs of the 4 warps we can use here (values 31-34) are for non-existent warp points in the final dungeon (the game sees the area value is valid but the coordinates are not so warps us to the default entrance which is at the start of the dungeon). In this trick because we cursor over the overworld spot, the game puts that warp's ID into memory, and then when page swap and trigger the warp at the same time the game doesn't have time to wipe the ID saved in memory, but it has updated which table it looks at. So it warps us to null, but if we use any other warp points in the overworld we will warp to specific places in other dungeons which is used in the All Dungeons speedrun. In fact we can reverse the process and cursor over a dungeon warp and page switch to the overworld to warp from a dungeon to an overworld location, however this is slightly less useful because all the overworld warp points are easier to reach than their respective dungeon ones, and there are many non-existent warp points in dungeons that we can't use to warp to the respective overworld spot.
