Let's be clear, you can be bad at EVE but still play! A viewer pointed out that one of the tank modules on this fit is active, meaning it needs to be turned on. Turns out I didn't do that at any time. EDIT: I did another null sec run using the module correctly and got the final room NPC under 50% structure before I died, so closer but same result :( Let's go through some of the reasons and call this a "learning opportunity" for all of us ;) 1) I am an idiot. Not much can be done about that at my stage of life... 2) I copied the fit without learning what was in it (clearly), and for some unknown reason, assumed the module was a passive one (plates/membranes that don't need turning on) 3) I didn't uncheck the setting "Display passive modules" which would have alerted me to my error. It can be found in the (tiny) options menu at the bottom right corner of your capacitor wheel 4) I was rushing 5) Refer to the title of the video. At least I can sell that module now as "brand new, never used"!!! 6) You were warned. See 0:05

Lol, thanks for the "holding down your d-scan button to scan and look at a specific area" tip. At a certain point the look at option dissapears, and i ended up warping to any area that was withing 0.1 au from the spot i thought the capsule. Man that took way longer than it should have, haha.

Like with most things in Eve, if you're having trouble, bring a friend. After a lot of experimentation, a couple other pilots and I figured out that using a logi frigate plus a good dps destroyer makes these sites pretty easy with much cheaper fits than I've seen most people using.

Good video. Nice to know others suck at EVE too. There is not one single time I have ever traversed WH space or NulSec and not been rolled. I have done this on many and too many occasions. I am 4 months old, and an Omega as well and never passed 350mil ISK. No one sucks like I do. Mining and Data and Relic sites in 0.5 is the lowest I will go now. It is a guaranteed loss of ship if I go lower. When my Omega runs out I may as well stay Alpha. I both love and hate this game so much. Good luck with your future EVE exploits and videos.

I'm guessing you get rolled by other players? It's a shame really. Eve does nothing to punish the scum that hunt newbies or people just trying to do things that are not PvP. Honestly they should just introduce a flagging system, like plenty of other long standing MMO's. IF you don't flag, you cant be attacked by other people.

Sucks to hear my man. I lost a Hawk and an Algos too in low sec both in the same way. Someone showed up mid wave of Guristas and I was a sitting duck lol Also, each time you activate that gate to the last room, it will use a key no matter what, even if you are scram/disrupted. If you click to activate the gate 7 times in a panic, it will use 7 keys so you have to be VERY careful and clear of any npcs when using them. Also, I hate to self-promote on your channel but I think it could help you a lot, I made a video with 3 different alpha destroyer fits that can do these sites and I agree the Dragoon is likely the safest/best. Nothing against Aceface but he likely had higher than normal alpha skills on his character, looks like he was using drugs, maybe implants too? and his fit really lacks proper resists and the repping power won't save it. Looks like you died to just not having enough tank which is the #1 way to die on these sites. I'll link my fit down below if you don't mind. It does less damage but high resists, 20% more repping power, and tested my fits with low skills, non-faction ammo or drones and did the sites fine. I like using fits that require the bare minimum and let the player upgrade where they have the skills or isk to do so. Also this fits work on alphas with CPU/Power-grid 4 as well so very newbro friendly and room for upgrades. Hope this helps and you can enjoy doing the sites. Firstly, I love your stuff so feel free to self-promote here any time you want! The more people enjoying EVE content, the better for everyone. Secondly, thanks for the fit. If it works for me I'll do a followup video and send some some love to your channel. If it isn't obvious already, I'm not a big PVE guy. There's so many guys like yourself doing awesome content, the last thing we needed was me doing another "how to" on The Hunt. So I'm happy that the video turned out to be more of a painful "story" than a "how to"!

@@NewbEden thanks, and I feel the same way. Everyone likes abyss content but I don't care that much for it. Plus there is 20 new videos a week on abyssal deadspace. Tthe fit should work for you, if the double Nosferatu feels like over-kill on the cap, just replace it with any turret hard point for more damage. You have a good message in this video. Its not often when someone puts out content of them failing. Its part of the learning process in eve.

@@Aceyface the dragoon is a very flexible fit. I had a reactive hardener at one point but I felt that alpha/newbro might have problems juggling 7 active modules lol but keep it up, your channel is exploding!

Nice vid mate. Love what you're doing for the Newbros. Yes the gate activation eats the key . TBH I had been working on the assumption you had to kill them all first anyway, but the way that worked for you was very frustrating. These events are great for players to stretch yourself in cheapish ships and learning d scan is always good for every player. The Low Sec sites are easier to find, your downside is that risk of company while pointed, happens to us all :( Fly Brave and have fun! o7

I feel your pain. Had multiple times "vanish" keys early on when unsuccessfully trying to activate the inner gate until I realized what might be going on. Hunting down the eggs to get the key is highly hit or miss, it seems. Either you seem to run looooong periods of time without seeing any (not even wrecks) to than suddenly have a bunch popping up on the same scan, putting you in a frenzy to get as many as you can.

Mate, I feel your pain through the screen of my phone. I've done about six hunt sites. 3 of which I got stolen by a worm or a hawk. Couldn't compete as an alpha in a corax 😂😂 I did try twice, all that ended up happening was I lost 2 keys and watched the worm kill and loot the boss 🤦🏻‍♂️

First video on this series im seeing, i may end up watching the rest but before i start i must say after listening to the first 30 seconds or so, that Eve is for sure a weird creature of a game. I know there's a lot of players like myself in this boat too. Ive been playing the game since like 2007. I played the most where i logged in every day and had a corp to do things with, between 2011-2015. After that it became kind of a, log in for 1 month a year and do things alone kind of game. I have quite a few IRL friends but none of them would ever even try eve after watching me play it. It was too hard, not twitchy enough, too indepth too time consuming. They werent into spreadsheets and data. The list could go on but for the most part i always ended up dragged out of Eve by friends who wanted to play something else, and i could never get them into it. I know there's lots of people in this boat ^ and because of that boat, you end up making mistakes when you come back. I used to be an expert pilot when i was in constant FW. I built fleet doctrine and led fleets. Doesn't prevent me from getting a tengu with HG crystals blown up the day i log back in for the first time in a year or 2 lol. But yea, in this games days like that are inevitable . im excited to watch the video now to see what happens

Glad to see you're back. EVE is a very difficult thing to completely leave. I've tried numerous times but haven't found anything that matches up to her so I keep coming back. If it helps, I lost a loaded Anshar on one of my "first days back on the job". That was a 10B isk "welcome back"!

I don't think it counts as bad manners to attempt a site that is already occupied. The eggs and hunt sites are so few and far between that competition is pretty stiff, and generally an accepted part of the hunt. Obviously if you think you have no chance in the final room, it makes sense to bail so as not to waste a key.

I think you want kinetic resist vs. Guristas, primarily.

@@jingofbandits these sites are a bit different. They can deal all different damage types. The caracal usually does EM damage.

Yeah, this is an Alpha. I have played for 8 years and my main pilot has 160m skill points. The purpose of this channel is education though, so I try to use skills/ships that new players can access.

I read that when you activate the gate it uses ALL your keys in cargo. So your summary seems correct

it uses 1 key each time you activate whether you are scram/disrupted or not. If you click 5 times in a panic to get into the next room, it will use 5 keys so be careful!

Never use Acolyte or other amarr drones against guristas , they gone die all , you must use Hornet,Hammerhead,wasp or sentry Garde.

Sorry to hear that. Stick at it though. I would guest you go back and watch through all the episodes. Also, if you want to do more PvE, search KZbin for some other good channels. Guys like EVEnton, AceFace, Dad Dex, BonkersY2K are just some of the great stuff available.
