Masha Allah, this discussion with my dear friend Na’ima B Robert left us in tears but feeling in awe of Allah’s power and plan. Do ‘like’ it and share it with your friends and families and maybe with someone who needs to hear about how we can emerge from hardship, stronger. Remember you can listen to the podcast on iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts. (So you can listen on your commute, while on a walk, relaxing with a cup of tea or even ironing!!)

Somehow I believe Allah must have used it as a sabab towards your overcoming the great trial from Allah. May Allah Subhanallah Wa Taala continue to strengthen you bi iznillah. Aameen.❤️💓🙏

In regards to homeschooling: I believe fear can be a great driving force to push you over the edge to enrol in this life style choice, however, the wind in your sails really needs to be a broader long term vision. I feel that if you really put your mind to it, you can enrich your children to the nth degree vis a vis children in Schools, Private and State. Do not be dismayed by the lack of social interaction of homeschooling, as it is what you make it and there are lots of support groups out there.

Assalaamu alaykum sister Fatima. This is regarding the points from 45:10 (for context) but more specifically for points made from 47:4. I understand the point that you made about wives maybe being more high in the neuroticism personality trait , which is why they might be more prone to thinking about what the next steps for the family should be or how to improve etc. However, I think that the specific example that sister Naima gave is linked more to the personality trait of conscientiousness, where the wife is conscientious or high in conscientiousness and the husband is low in conscientiousness. This would lead to him feeling entitled as the 'amir of the house' but practically he would be unable to back up his position with actual responsibility, action and forethought (like sister Naima mentioned), and that can cause marital problems. I've seen it in husbands (and wives) who, most likely, are narcissists, and are therefore far more talk than action. As a side point, I think it would be great if Muslims who have religious knowledge could work together with psychologists so that as laymen we understand better what we can or can't take from western psychology. I find the subject of the big 5 personality traits (and narcissism) really interesting and, practically, I can see that a lot of it seems to make sense and seems to have helped me make sense of conflicts I've seen in marriages, families and work places, but I still feel worried that there could be areas that contradict our religion and I don't know what they are.

Intersectionality is so subversive. Here in the states everyone is so race and gender obsessed .. it's been injecting in the Muslim community which is dangerous, imo. Glad sister Ustadh pushed back a tad bit, agreed with everything she said about being putting people in categories. I personally think these marxist strains are creating further division more than ever.

Dear Ilm feed & usthadhas, I have a question to ask from you all...you people have covered your entire body except "wrist".. is it permissable in Islam?
@FatimaBarkatulla
@FatimaBarkatulla 4 жыл бұрын
My Account - Assalamu alaikum. I believe that covering the face and hands up to the wrist is not an obligation. If someone’s wrists are uncovered in this video, then it would have happened accidentally, unintentionally. May Allah forgive our shortcomings. I advise you and all brothers to lower your gazes as the Qur’an commands and to simply listen to the message in the podcast episodes or alternatively, to avoid the episodes with sisters in them and allow other people, especially sisters, to benefit. SubhanAllah, there is so much good to learn from our sisters. But as with anything, if it is a fitna for you, or annoys you, then please avoid it. JazakAllahu khairan.
