Love the foresight to fend off viewer questions over storing all jacks. That might very well be your greatest accomplishment of this build 🎈

Haha my best ventriloquist attempt. My pick is the sliding roof but I do love these for the ease and simplicity.

I have always been impressed with how much weight a scaffold leveler can handle. Your attachment and transport method is the best kind of design - simple and idiot proof which is the hardest thing to design. I assume you will have some matching bespoke levelling pads also? This build is the perfect blend of fussy and creative. Thanks for sharing it!

Funny you say that. I always know I haven't found the right solution when it just feels... a little too complex. Like there is still more to strip away. I came up with some pretty outlandish designs. But in the end these are so simple, and almost nothing on them that can fail or break. I have looked at composite jack pads but I am thinking I might just use some hardwood blocks or dig in concrete pavers when I setup. Haha I love your description of the build. Thank you for following along Simon. Keep the thoughts coming, love hearing them.

@@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse If it was me, I would go with 2 layers of 3/4" ply about 1' square. 4 stainless socket head screws into t-threads which align with the 4 leveler plate holes.
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse4 жыл бұрын
@@nomiSimple yeah nice. The ply might de-laminate though. Old railway sleeper cut up is great option too, last forever.

The beauty is in the simplicity hey. Total cost for 8 legs was less than the cost of 2 normal legs without even attaching them
@TheSpindrift764 жыл бұрын
My, brain has been thinking about your floors too. Busses and trains use a sliding plate floor so the gap is never exposed. Your ideas are fun and inspiring. I really like the smart cost solution to the stability legs.
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse4 жыл бұрын
You and me both! It took a lot of brain power. Buses and trains certainly have a lot of concepts that could be used. But as much as possible I really wanted to make it look like a house with a seamless join which has made it very complicated. Video coming soon though

Thank you John. Simple and strong I was chuffed with the simplicity in the end. I was happiest about having a way to store them easy

You make everything (including making videos!) look so freaking easy, yet it's obvious how complex it is! Amazing! I'm just always flabbergasted by the things you do! 😲👍

You are too kind, thank you. I am glad it looks easy on the surface. Many sleepless nights thinking about this stuff goes into the making of this stuff. Really appreciate you following the progress :)

Next level innovations! Really appreciate your videos. Seriously, the only other channels that get me as excited are about Spacex and Tesla. (Maybe I like innovation.) Don’t think you have to do any crazy video production work. Just please keep sharing!
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse4 жыл бұрын
Man Spacex and Tesla are the pinnacle and my favs too, so to even be put in the same comment is a bloody compliment my friend. Thank you for following and appreciate the feedback. The videos are the hardest part I'll talk for days if you don't shut me up, yet I hate videos where people yabber on. I live in conflict haha. Not to mention I am trying to build a bloody house at the same time. I'll just keep them coming and focus on the ideas. Keep the feedback on format and what you like to see coming, helps me get faster at making them.

This is really clever, well thought out construction and design. I hope your channel takes off soon because you deserve a stack more subscribers. If the whole thing works out as you hope, do you then have a production template to manufacture the same thing for others?
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse4 жыл бұрын
Hey thank you that is crazy kind. Not yet I feel like I'll get to the end and would actually have enough knowledge to come up with a better design. Not sure if I'd manufacture for others, it'd be hard to keep costs reasonable there is so much labor in this design. I am keeping it in the back of my mind though.

So awesome! I’m excited to see the floor where they connect!
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse4 жыл бұрын
Oh that damn floor. I honestly thought it would be the easiest part. Not at all. Had to make it so there are not gaps in the floor, seals up so there is no draft, easy to put in and remove and then on top of all that... it has to be load bearing. It's the one part of this design I feel like there is a better answer that I will probably only find once the build is finished.
@fisheater8444 жыл бұрын
Cool work, wondering if your lowering your floor from the one that doesn’t have the swinging walls. You could use some more offset hinges and then drop in board to finish off as well as floor mouldings that seal the side walls to the floor. Looking forward to your next upload.
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse4 жыл бұрын
I worked with that idea for so long. But the critical issue was creating a seamless join to the main trailer as it is my only visible join line. I literally just uploaded the next build update and it's all about the floor. I talk about that exact challenge. Love the ideas keep them coming

Very nice, we use similar type of jacks while working on cars. Especially when I need to lift or hold a car engine up to remove the transmission or engine mounts.

Oh cool, what are they, wind up axle stands? Simple designs and infinite adjustment with the lead screw

@@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse They are screw/pole jacks. Have the threaded inner pole like yours. They are about 4ft tall all the way down. Then you turn the arms like yours and they raise to over 6ft. Another great idea by you. 👍🏽

I enjoy your trailer builds and this 2 trailer set-up is the best. I mentioned in your videos I want to do something similar with 2 trailers. Since the counties where I live limit how big a home can be without a permit. 2 trailers that can connect and disconnect from each other is perfect !.
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse4 жыл бұрын
@@72Dexter72Manley72 yeah it's looking like it'll turn into an awesome house but it comes with a downside. It's bloody complex to get right. I've been going for months and only starting to get close where most tiny house builds start. And I still have some complicated structure to go not to mention how I flash all this up. In the back of my mind is how could I make this simpler for future builds. Not there yet

Me too. The next step will see it really start to take shape and means I will have the join cracked. I'll finally be able to move onto enclosing it into an actual house.
