Here is some Newport info. The first separate Newport line was introduced in 1961. it was an instantaneous success as it was priced just slightly above the low price three. In 1964 the base price of a Newport was $2964.00 !!!! This was without most options you expect as standard equipment. Radio, heater, automatic, full wheel covers, white walls, sound insullation and foam padded seats. My 64 was Black with a white and black interior. It had Auto, P steering, P brakes, heater, remote mirror, tinted windshield and a reverberator. i drove it 175,000 miles and still miss it.
