They are pretty common in central Kansas, where they are called "round-tops." Several large ones in industrial use look like they could be WWII surplus. Last I knew, there was a small group of residential units still in use in Columbia, MO.

In the UK we had Prefabs after WW11 lived in one as a kid.

Great video, I really learned a lot. Request: Can you explain why the city Oshkosh is named after a children's clothing brand? Always wondered!

The city was actually named for the Chief Oshkosh of the Menominee. Learn more about him here: www.wisconsinhistory.org/Records/Article/CS14778 I'm always surprised how much name recognition the city has, though WHY you might recognize it will vary. If you're in the military you may have driven something built by Oshkosh Defense (oshkoshdefense.com/). If you're an aviation enthusiast, you are definitely familiar with EAA AirVenture (www.eaa.org/airventure). And I do believe every American child born after 1980 was issued a pair of Oshkosh B'Gosh Overalls.
