@@kritisaxena3590 Hi! We are not school teachers but making this out of our own interest in History. We are studying the primary sources for this history plus some old literature. This primarily includes Mahavamsa, Mudrarakshasa, Asokavadana, Megasthenes' Indica, Kautilya's Arthashastra and edicts of Ashoka. For the 6 episodes of the series, we have referred all these materials. For upcoming videos, we are studying similar ancient documents, archaeological evidence and literature like Puranas.

1:50, actually Chandragupta did have royal ancestors, as Piplivan(An alliance of Shishunaga dynasty), when got annexed by Dhanadhand, the child of the king was secretly preserved and the nameof that child was ' Chandragupta Maurya' (according to some Jain Texts)

@@Glimpses well that's true as well actually , you know a not-so-fun fact , i think the best of the historical record about Alexander's campaign in East Asia would have had been kept at the last location that he saw , that would be a ancient city taxsila across indus and like the library of Alexandria there once was a great library in that citys university (yes university) and just like library of Alexandria that whole complex was burnt down in and around 12tg century AD i wonder if we had those 2 and some other ancient archives still safe many mysteries would unravel

Hopefully in future we may discover in some new archeological such records which offers a view of Alenxander's expedition in South Asia! 🙂🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 But it's also possible that for Indians and its neighbors this period was of least importance since it didn't affect them till later. We have an example of how the ancient Greeks celebrated their victory over Persians (Themophyle, Marathon) but the Persion records do not give to them much since for their vast empire, probably they were just blip on one of the many frontiers.

Hi Sonia! We refered to the earliest sources (mentioned in the video), but couldn't find anything related to this anywhere. Although there are sections in Arthashastra that suggests that he must have had a harem with many woman to serve him and there were prostitutes reserved for king only. But there is no trace of bisexuality anywhere! 😃

Megastheneese was in the court of chandragupta mauryas..he didn't see chanakya any where..chanakya is fictional character..

You're right that Megasthenes didn't mention Chanakya! 👍🙂 But his references are found in Buddhist literature, later Jain literature and in the play Mudrarakshas. Also, in Arthashastra it mentiones that Kautilya overthrew the Nandas. We wrote our material referring those 🙂🙂 Megasthenes' part is also covered in our 2nd episode of the series. yes but warrior community is surrounded by all non-warrior community and democracy goes on numbers. Buddhist sources is very clear that he was kshatriya of solar dynasty. brahmins called him shudra because he deserted the brahminical religion.

Which was a story book cants prefer more for his caste, therefore historians isn't accept this. Most old evidence that maurya are from kshatriya was mahavamsha (pali) and ashokashilakeh. These are much oldest evidence than mudra.... . Fact -only mudra.. Claimed maurya as a shudra. Hence maurya are kshatriya, today in Rajasthan mori rajputs are there
