@Hiren Humbal They were Turks and spoke Turkic language,they had mongol ancestry too because central asia was part of the mongol empire that's all .The relation to Genghis Khan is just a claim,there is no proof...then most Indian kings tracing lineage to suryavamsh or chandravansh must me true.

it was chanakya who asked candragupta to marry salucas daughter so he did not attack on india again also said that the child of daughter will not became the king. And candragupta won all that territory by victory, not salucas offered him.

There is no evidence of Chanakya ever being involved in Seleucid-Mauryan War. However, Chanakya disliked Yavans very much and said some really bad things about them. So, even if it's not written that he was involved in this treaty, he preferred Bindusara over his other sons to succeed. Bindusara was son of Chandragupta and his relative's daughter Durdhara.

Bhadrabahu forecast a 12-year famine because of all the killing and violence during the conquests by Chandragupta Maurya. He led a group of Jain monks to south India, where Chandragupta Maurya joined him as a monk after abdicating his kingdom to his son Bindusara.

Chandragupta was a jain when few monks made them invisible and went to his palace (yeah its an actual story in ParishistParvan). Chandragupta at that time was a heretic and later he accepted Jainism. It all happened before birth of Bindusara. So he was a jain way before his successor was born.
@Glimpses
@Glimpses 2 ай бұрын
You are correct! Chandragupta did become a Jain monk, as the text suggest, because of the draught that engulfed the Empire, that the Jain Monks told was caused by the large number of people getting killed due to his wars.

Its not written of Seleucus offered his daughter or Chandragupta demanded her as a glorified wife hostage (like most princesses that time) but Seleucus was cunning enough to get benefit from even this. 😂 Chanakya disliked Yavanas and was vitriolic towards them.
@Glimpses
@Glimpses 2 ай бұрын
The mention of Seleucus giving his daughter in marriage to an Indian king they called 'Sandrakottas' is found in Greek & Roman Historians and not in Indian texts. You are right! Seleucus did benefit greatly as he received massive advantage from the Indian elephants against his rivals in the west

@@Glimpses In Indian text Bhavishya Purana, it says that Chandragupta was born from Shakyasimha and he married a daughter of Yavana ruler of a city named Suluva and ruled with her till 60 years. It's possible he had more Yavana wives than we think.
