Civtrader recently made a post in the civ subreddit about getting a T104 deity culture victory. He has some tips there you could look at that would help. The post is called industrial era great writers in the classical era, or something like that. Edit: nevermind, potato has seen the post and even commented on it. Civtrader told him the settings that he should use.

I loooove fast culture victories. It's my favorite victory type. I think missing Pyramids was a huge mistake that could have shaved 10-20 turns off the run - you have a great city for with lots of chops and non desert tiles to work. It gives extra culture, it's the only realistic way to get the tech boost for the acropolis, and the extra build charge nets you 8-12 extra chops easy.

Doesn't she get culture boost on combat wins? wouldn't it be a little quicker to attack barb camps to get the culture boost? I could be wrong

I did a turn 45 dom win on Deity. And yes I totally used the game settings to manipulate it into any easy win. - Monty/Aztec was the pick - map Duel size - Abundant resources - Legendary start - pick any civ that has ZERO early game UUs to go against - max City States - spam Eagle Warriors and go straight to war with the first CS you find - then go conquer the enemy civ Why did I mention this? Because on Deity it's ok to manipulate the game settings for any advantage you can get since the AIs have so many MASSIVE advantages.

when you meet a city state, if you see a building icon on the right then you were first, easy way to tell without always having to look at city state screen

My personal best Diety victory is 136 turns with Russia for a faith victory. I did a continents map on cold, to maximize tundra, then settled the north with the tundra faith boosting pantheon to get insane faith district yields. but that was before gathering storm. Not sure how it would work now

No, Potato is just lucky. Like, extremely lucky. Most of my Deity games I get swarmed by barbarians or a neighboring civ decided to declare war on me during the ancient or classical eras. I was actually playing an amazing game as Montezuma earlier (ended up getting two golden ages, tons of luxuries and my capital had 13 pop by the end of the classical era) when Pericles decided to declare a surprise war on me for no reason and rolled up to my capital with tons of crossbowmen and knights. I rage quit at that point after losing my capital, getting a dark age and thus losing another city to loyalty pressure, and then seeing Pericles kill my neighboring city-state allies. :/

Potato can you explain me why exactly did you pick godess of the harvest instead of divine spark? And I'm not being rude, I actually want to know what was your though process there.

Because I have no way to generate faith if I take Divine spark. Without faith a monumentality golden age is pointless. Goddess of the Harvest is the strongest pantheon in the game.

I’ve logged about 450 hours on civ 6 and I only play on deity now (gathering storm). I’ve won domination and religious victories on continents, standard map size standard game speed and ALL default settings. It’s really annoying to see people manipulate the settings to improve their chances to win from the get-go. This isn’t really winning on deity, it’s tweaking the game to essentially lower the difficulty.

You get the luxury, too. Is a somewhat common strat to settle your first city on top of a luxury to sell to the AI ASAP

Potato, you're my definitely my favorite Civ player on YT. However, it often drives me up the wall when you treat units with all the intention that a typical flower girl treats petals at a wedding. I mean, I get that you are disinterested in micromanaging units, as it always becomes a slog at some point. And you definitely work hard at analyzing and playing otherwise. But it often seems like you don't even look at the units as you move them. To be fair: I think you're absolutely right that too much min/max of unit micro is super boring to watch. But I somehow doubt this trap will ever be a problem for you. I wish you would try to enjoy assessing unit movement a little more. At least for the first 50 turns or so. Then again, I'm going to enjoy your content even if it is sometimes frustrating. Thanks Potato!

Acropolis +2 city center adjacency in capital missing, ridiculously poor city placement, forgot to pick up the goody hut and the worst - you missed out on the classical golden age for no reason whatsoever. :-/ Comon Mr. Potato, you're better than this :)

But if i dont clear a barb camp IMMEDIATELY (2nd hardest difficulty), i'll be swarmed by barbs in a few rounds. How can he just leave them be on diety, and not be bothered?
