Jyotiraditya Scindia is a third generation politician currently serving as Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel in PM Modi’s cabinet since 2021. He is a member of the upper house of parliament from his home state of Madhya Pradesh and has also represented Guna parliamentary constituency in Lok Sabha for more than 17 years. Scindia is an economics graduate from Harvard University and has an MBA from Stanford University. Prior to entering politics, Jyotiraditya also worked with Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch as an investment banker. He is also a cricket enthusiast and has served as president of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association. In this edition of ANI Podcast with Smita Prakash, Scindia talks about how he joined mainstream politics after the sudden demise of his father Madhav Rao Scindia in 2002. He also recollects his memories of his grandmother Vijaya Raje Scindia, who was one of the founding members of Jan Sangh. He also talks about his relationship with the Gandhi family and reveals reasons why he left Congress to join the BJP. Scindia also talks about the INDIA alliance and terms it as a group of political entities who want to serve their own interests instead of serving the people. He also talked about initiatives taken by the civil aviation ministry and exuded confidence that the BJP will win the upcoming state elections in Madhya Pradesh.

We had the oppurtinity of meeting Rajamatha Vijayaraje schindya in 1976 during emergency in karnataka. She was so simple, humble and down to earth. We students sat around her and chatted with her like old friends.The few hours we spent with her can never be erased from our hearts.I sang a Tyagaraja keertan and she said I should never give up singing.❤Jyotiraditya is her grand son .🙏

My father w has known and worked with madhavrav ji and his death was a shock for all of us. I still remember his face when he heard that news. I am so happy that Jyotiraditya chose to leave congress. People saying Scindia being a dynast, I disagree. He is highly educated, cleared harvard education, worked as an Investment banker, built his own startup and won the elections on his own. Now, he is running a central ministry and fighting for CM portfolio! He is a meritocratic leader who grew through the ranks and not someone like MK Stalin or Rahul Gandhi who was just given the political crown without going through the trial of Fire!

I must say that JS is one of d jwelles in PM's cabinet. He has brought the truth ( past n present) to light. Very honest n bold personality. I as a banker worked at Shamshabad a village in Vidisha dist. MP from July 1994 to June 1997 n experienced d trouble of electricity supply road ....... I have done Ma Narmada Parikrama by walk from Nov.2021 to March 2022 n seen d development in many sectors in MP as l walked all the parikrama.
