Came here expecting great guitar talk. Did NOT expect such an open, honest, warm, conversation filled with gratitude. Hearing him talk about how he misses Scott and regrets that it ended poorly and that he is sad that Scott has missed out on so much, was really touching. We appreciate you, Dean.

I really do believe that Dean, Robert and Eric sincerely loved Scott, but there's only so much you can do for a person who is an addict. You can scream and cry until you're blue in the face trying to help the addict but truly nothing will change until the addict wants to change for themselves.

Hearing Dean talk about jazz chords being the blueprint of their music couldn’t be more true. I asked Dean at an STP meet and great at HMV back in the late 90s/early 2000s when I was a teenager. I asked him what he listened to and how he came up with his chord progressions. He said the exact same thing to me that he said in this interview. He listened to jazz guitarists like Tal Farlow and that Robert was responsible for the progressions in their songs.
