Also benny remember , in a business class one time I was told people buy our stuff because of why we do it not because we do it. Having stories behind our work creates a connection with the artist

I am truly happy for you! I’ve had this same rolling mill for about 10 years and I love it. I keep mine in my studio which doesn’t have much dust and is heated/AC, so the environment helps keep it protected. I don’t cover it but I do keep the drums oiled. You have to do that to keep it in good condition. But Benny, if your environment is damp or dirty, I would keep it oiled and covered. Looking forward to seeing what you make with it. :-) Go Benny!

Hi Benny. Great tool upgrade! Pepe makes an awesome rolling mill! I have the 130mm Combo mill and love it! I believe the grease is there to protect the rollers from potential rust. Just wipe off with a soft rag. I cover mine with a pillow case and put the original plastic cover over top. Another tip, always leave a slight gap between the rollers when not in use to avoid rust spots. Have fun with your new toy!!

I'm looking forward to you exploring texturing. Optimum silver thickness, size, etc. It just never seems to work for me.

I keep a cloth bag and a pillowcase over my mill when not in use. I use to put 3 in one oil on the rollers directly and then cover it but, now I keep oil soaked spongesIn-between the rollers and on the top of the top roller, also I polish the rollers after heavy use nowadays.

clean the grease, and every couple of years change the grease around the gears. dust and grit get in there and the grease dries out in the southwest. Enjoy. I was lucky and scored a used Cavalli a few years ago.

Congratulations I also have very little space and I bought a HarborFreight tool stand. I think the part is 60096 and I’m on it in that and I can move it wherever I need it makes it real nice.

I have the 160mm combo and am super happy with it. With the new ductile frames you should never have an issue. I use corrosion x on mine. To clean before use, lay cloth on table put round dowl in middle fold over in half run cloth in mill and dowl stops cloth from going all the way through keep rolling then pull out.

You scored big dude, PePe tools are top shelf goods brother. You can buy silver cheaper at potter usa, they make presses ect. He sells silver at 14 gauge ect cheaper than riogrande. With that rolling press keep it greased On a regular basis. Store it with a heavy layer of grease and wrap everything metal in plastic, it will last forever if you do that. Damn nice mill brother, ya done good. Remember to use both arms or you’ll have a big gun only on one side lol 😂❤🎉

I have that same pepe mill, I broke a gear the first month and the warranty covered it. Just remember to heat and quench frequently. I am not able to make wider silver with it though in fear of breaking another gear.. other then that it's a good rolling mill..

Excellent! Good buy. It's an investment you'll have for a very very long time. Pepe has a good video how to take care of it, oil it, clean the rollers, and calibrate the rollers. Go check them out, they're worth it and you'll keep your investment clean. I don't use plastic to store my mill. If moisture gets in there, it will get some surface rust on it. If you want to know how to get your Vevor back together, let me know how to get ahold of you privately. I've taken mine apart roughly 5 times. I'll bet your gears didn't seize. I'm guessing the needle bearings on the rollers deformed. Easy fix.

@64t120r oooh thank you for the tip! Yea my brain broke putting it back together. I was like, why is this gear not touching any other gears? Lol
@64t120r2 ай бұрын
@@boomjewelrydesigns That's funny. I've done things like that. Very often I'll take pictures of complex assemblies when I take them apart. With your new rolling mill learn how to use a dowel with a rag. It will be your best friend when it comes to maintenance. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
