My friend, my self-dignity has returned. I can sing down to a C#2 comfortably and up to an Eb6 *if* my voice is warmed up. For some reason though, even though my voice is getting deeper, I can sing even higher. Very happy. (I'm a guy btw)

In my school choir, I was always assigned alto because I could sing harmonies. It had nothing whatsoever to do with my vocal range. Sopranos = melody, altos = harmony (except for the ones who got bored and sang the melody soprano part anyway). So much for the labels. The true range I got to was A2 - D6. I'd say my comfortable range is around C3 - F5. Well. It looks like I've got a lot of growing room in my high range. Time to get to work!

Thanks Justin, a very important lesson that finally takes stock of the situation and puts an end to a big worry of mine! I was often told that I could not sing certain songs because with notes too high for me that I was called a Barítono with a warm voice but punctually studying I was able to do them and successfully! I always wondered if I wasn't the one demanding too much from myself but then I realized that I got to sing those songs effortlessly and that they were appreciated also I'm a non-lyric pop singer where the issue would be different and then why limit myself? If I had listened to those who discouraged me from expanding my vocal range I would now always sing on the same notes. I often felt “guilt” singing songs beyond the baritone register as if I were invading unauthorized territory and then getting compliments from the same people who said I shouldn't sing that song! In short, all this confused my ideas! With this lesson, the speech is finally closed! No more mental barriers! What matters is the result always if obtained in a healthy and pleasant way for those who sing and listen! I've also heard questions about musical genres: if you sing one genre you can't make another... and who said that?!? I like to deal with and study various genres and this helps to grow, don't you think? A hug.

I have a light and kind of feminine voice but 8 years ago, I couldn't even go past F#4 without switching to head voice. Nowadays, I can comfortably sing female songs that aren't too hard (something like The Middle by Maren Morris & Grey is fine for me) and I can push my chest voice all the way up to B4 until I start losing control. My head voice range also increased from around F#5 to almost C6. I know it doesn't sound like much of an improvement in 8 years but there was an improvement, there ain't no such thing as "impossible" if you try hard enough so don't be discouraged if you can't sing high notes today. Practice more and maybe tomorrow you'll be able to sing higher than the rest of the world. And If you ask "what's the trade off", the trade off is I no longer have the ability to go anywhere below F2 while I could go to D2 (lower if you count vocal fry, not which note because it was too low for me to tell).

Followed along and just barely got a B1-B5 today! Exactly 4 octaves... that's satisfying lol. I used to be able to take my falsetto a bit into the sixth octave (G6) when I was younger, and even used that in my songs, but I can't do it anymore... I'm lucky to scream out a C for a split second That technique of doing falsetto on a "w" sound is really interesting! I was worried about having to do it full-volume and going for it, but this made it much easier Now to work on the middle of that range... *sobs*

Oh, wow! Thank you for this one, Justin! I actually does leave some comments(just leaving some progress reports😂) on some of your episodes that I've already watched. With this one, I've determined that my lowest note would be Gb2(I thought it was F#2, but I think they're the same😂) and my highest would be Gb6(I also thought it was F#6 and again, I think it is the same with the Gb6😂). I did not count my whistle register as per what you've instructed to count up to the highest note in flageolet. My whistle would go up to C8 although I'm not fond of using it(I just use it to call my cats😂✌). In conclusion, my whole range would be from Gb2 to Gb6 (Belt to A4 & Headvoice to B5). Thank you for helping me in improving my voice. I'm now trying to improve my flageolet and I've been watching your episodes about it over and over again for the past weeks of the quarantine period.

E2-D5 (belt to E4) for me...as someone who didn't take actual lessons yet (I am planning on starting soon though) and only used videos to practice so far, I'd say this is not that bad :D

I can do Eb2-E4-D6. The highest note I've reached is F#6. I can sing a connected note from A3 to D6 in falsetto, but I can't properly mix yet and it's very hard to reach anything in the fourth octave, which sucks because most of my favorite singers are tenors :/ But I'm confident I'll get there
