How do I enter a fuel surcharge reported on a settlement statement into QB?
@MrFlyboy13139 жыл бұрын
50 cents less per gallon is incredible! It's Missouri,right? Maybe Arizona? I can't wait to find out.
@matthaggerty67249 жыл бұрын
So this is in general for all O/O, L/O correct? Since Prime does not use the Avg Fuel Index and uses their own fuel number it would be slightly less per year?

OK I understand there is a theory they going faster can cost poor per gallon as far as your feel economy but going faster also gives you more revenue Brower there has to be a way to figure that out. The we have figured it out is it going faster actually gets you more revenue the offsets the cost of fuel
@MarkStaite7 жыл бұрын
circusboy90210 The studies have already been done. In short: Driving faster for 30 days only gains one additional load for tue month on average. The revenue from that one load is less than the cost of the additional fuel spent for the same time frame. Science is science. Math is math. Personal belief never trumps the truth of numbers.
@andrewklein63217 жыл бұрын
My math is one extra load per week he never factored in t x m - r =$. Time momentum resistance. But speeding tickets set you back always so mark is correct lol

Hey mark! I was hoping to maybe have a chance to have a talk with you about getting into the trucking industry? Would you have an email address people could email questions to you with? Understandably it wouldn't be a personal email lol, but anyways, I would appreciate to hear back from you!

Jessie... Best to head to Facebook and search for "The Rookie Room". There is about 2 or 3 years worth of Live Streaming Q&A in the video archive section. A lot of "Getting Started" questions and answers there. Good luck and thank you for watching and commenting!

There's a mistake in your math. You never adjusted th fsc. At 2.27/gal, fsc is .178 which comes 4o $204 not $333. Just an oversight im sure.
@MarkStaite9 жыл бұрын
there is no error in the math . we're not adjusting the fuel surcharge calculation at $2.27. we are simply purchasing fuel at $2.27 even though the customers revenue that they are paying us is based on the industry standard fuel surcharge calculation
@truckerbiker82629 жыл бұрын
Ok. Got ya. I misunderstood. Got it now.

+Mark Staite The FSC changes PER MILE when you change the miles per gallon. So when the FSC per mile is multiplied times the miles, the dollar amount is less for the trip. At least that's the way it seems to me. You don't get the same number of bucks surcharge if you buy less fuel.

This video is 6 years old but it doesn’t matter. The only calculation that is correct is the 6 mpg calculation. The other two are completely wrong!! The $333.00 only applies to 6 mpg! The 7 mpg and the 8 mpg are completely wrong! How could you not recalculate the actual fuel surcharge for the 7 mpg and the 8 mpg? How could you not know to recalculate that? The 7 mpg has to be divided into the $1.67 to get the actual fuel surcharge. Similarly, the 8 mpg has to be divided into the $1.67 to get the actual fuel surcharge!!! This is another fine example of incompetence... post something, yap, yap, yap and 2/3rds of it is wrong! Perhaps even worse is no one in this comment section was smart enough to see this! Trucker math!
@MarkStaite3 жыл бұрын
@Truthseeker What's are the chances that you lack the mental horsepower to comprehend 5th grade math? Customers are charged FSC at 6mpg by damn near everyone based on the industry standard formula which you already agreed is correct. Where you are slipping gears is this video answers the basic question of, "What if my truck gets BETTER MPG's than 6mpg?". The higher MPG's demonstrated in the video reflect the saving in fuel cost overall. Now... If YOU want to change away from the industry-standard of 6mpg, and change how much YOU want to charge your customer by increasing the mpg portion of the calculation to 7 or 8 or even 9mpg... You go right ahead! Feel free to give away any savings you like. After all, it is your business. So you go ahead and give away free money back to your customer. Everyone else will probably decide to stick with billing the customer the FSC at 6mpg while mental giants, like yourself, decide to leave customer money on the table and in your customer's pockets, instead of your own pockets. Remember... This video is pointing out the difference between what FSC the customer is charged.... And what you keep in your pocket if you perform BETTER than 6mpg. Good luck. Thanks for tonight's laugh.
