"How can Conservatives take back the culture?" -- start with Science Fiction and Fantasy's Hugo Awards. Step 1: Read some science fiction / fantasy books. Listen to your friends for new ones that they like Step 2: Buy a membership to WSFS -- Voting for the Hugo awards is open to all members of the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS), and to become a member all you have to do is buy a membership in that year’s Worldcon. It is not necessary to actually attend the convention. A “supporting membership,” the cost of which varies from year to year (in 2015 it costs US$40; in 2016 it costs US$50), is all you need to join WSFS. Step 3: Nominate and vote for the science fiction / fantasy stories that are the best quality and support your values. The typical winner, wins with around 2000 votes. 2000 lockstep Conservatives could take over any given category. 10,000 Conservatives all voting their own way, could easily take the whole process. This is how the freaks took over SciFi, and it's how we can take it back. Even Jeremy's "Pendragon" could win, if we got ourselves put together properly.

@johnselden9257
@johnselden9257 12 күн бұрын
@ They are causing crime actually and there are a ton of lies and manipulations about it. Depending on the population we are talking about. East Asians commit less crime for sure. Hispanics though, are another story. Additionally, the entire mass immigration scheme is all about keeping wages stagnant for low skill workers by flooding America on the border, and then stagnating wages with higher skilled labor by abusing the H1B Visas. Then add to that the outsourcing of a huge amount of manufacturing, this is why so many people are struggling. Something like 50% of American Stem graduates can’t find a job and yet we are told we need H1B Visa migrants because we need smart people? Oh and how about the fact that a huge amount of these illegal migrants are getting here and then getting welfare? That should never happen. If you don’t understand how that one issue alone is incredibly wrong and destructive, I don’t know what to tell you. We are 36 trillion in debt; we are the brokest nation on the planet and yet we are paying the bills of anyone who crosses our OPEN border? Meanwhile there are homeless people all over the street, nobody can afford to buy a house, most people are in debt, etc. Joe Biden just allowed 10 million+ people in. It’s unbelievable…
@johnselden9257

@ Can you show me where and when white people voted to become a minority in their own country? If you know anything about how this country ran prior to LBJ, you would know that that actually is not a controversial question. Unless you think that almost every nation on Earth is racist for doing the exact same thing? Because that’s the other issue with all of this that I forgot to mention, human beings are very tribal, it’s in our genetics. What do you think will happen when you fill a country up with different groups? Well, we already know what happens. They start viewing each other as different groups and as the “other” and of course, activists will start saying that one group is the oppressor (Marxist playbook) and it all descends into madness from there. That has literally already happened and it is all based on race. And you want to continue that? Have you thought about this issue at all? Have you listened to anyone talking about immigration negatively? The US has taken on more migration than any other nation in the world. It has actually been the largest flow of human beings the world has EVER SEEN. But to you, just as long as they don’t commit crimes it’s totally fine? Some real deep thinking you have there.

I mean the real take away from the H1B argument is how little their advocates care about the American people. We are not a nation in their minds. We are an economic zone. The argument itself is remarkably easy to solve. Set a minimum salary of 500,000 a year for H1Bs. Top talent deserves top pay. And if you cannot find an American willing to do what it takes to be worth half a million? Go ahead.

Love your show! But (English language professional here) you are helping the bad guys by saying “Islamist” instead of “Islamic”. “Islamist” is a term invented the day before yesterday to pretend that the religion is a religion of peace, and the people acting according to its teachings are “getting it wrong”. The fact that most Muslims are nominal believers who don’t want to enact jihad of the sword does not make the religion one of peace, but rather the people claiming the name of the religion as not serious about their religion. We don’t need multiple words to indicate “different types of Islam”, but rather, different types of believers : nominals, eclectic believers (who pick and choose the teachings they like and reject the ones they don’t on their own authority), and true believers, the ones who believe they should try to live by all the teachings without regard to what they might prefer. That goes for any religion, but because of the effort to whitewash Islam, it goes double for them.

If we want to hedge instead of saying "this was a terryatk" because we don't want to jump to conclusions, can we maybe say "there is significant evidence this was a terryatk"? Even if that evidence turns out to be misleading or even deceptive, the it seems to me that the evidence is in fact present, and that's worth reporting. If it's misleading evidence or deceptive evidence, that would certainly be worth a follow-up as the story develops. Sure, by this process you'd say that there was "evidence" that Jussie Smollett was atk'd (Jussie's testimony being that evidence), but the fact that that evidence later turned out to be deceptive was a story worth following too. In fact, stories in between analyzing the quality of whatever evidence we have, are also worthwhile news of a story as it unfolds. Seems to me that this sort of process is the news working as intended.

Have you actually seen Frozen or just heard the song? You're right about "Let it go" on it's own, but in context, it's clearly a villain song. During and immediately after, Elsa freezes her entire kingdom and nearly kills her sister, it's clearly not an endorsement of the philosophy in the song. It's kind of like Criticizing "Poor Unfortunate Souls" because it implies that sea witches help people in need.

Klavan, the H1B issue is a big deal. American jobs should not be deprioritized and Musk and Ramaswamy owe the American people an apology for their blatant disrespect.
@FatSuitBaldCap
@FatSuitBaldCap 23 күн бұрын
Daily Wire has really been extremely disappointing with their dismissal of this issue so far. i really don't see the point of "winning" if we turn into a 3rd world joyless countries working 60 hours a week filled with non-americans where our people are barred from traditionally higher paying middle class jobs. This has turned me a bit sour against these guys. What's the point of defending culture if we just import another and it takes over? And no, I'm not being hyperbolic or extremist or whatever... Ask any STEM worker and they'll tell you the workplace has gone in the last decade or so from 70-80% American to 40-60% Indian depending on the field.
@danielwessel9884
@danielwessel9884 23 күн бұрын
While I am sympathetic to those concerns about high paying jobs going to foreigners, we have to consider why that's happening. Could it be that our university system is failing to produce qualified candidates? I also question the STEM stat. I saw in my workplace a big increase of ethnic east Indians but most were citizens only a few were h1b.

@danielwessel9884 No, we have the manpower. Thats objective. Foreigners can be paid and worked like slaves because if they’re fired on H1B, they’re deported.

@FatSuitBaldCap my culture (Cajun) has been deliberately liquidated and erased enough. No more dilution, and no more ripping off American citizens for cheap workers. Those techies in the Trump administration are the next enemy after the wokies apparently. We have to fight this fight or the America First agenda will die sooner than later.

Klavan is not being quite fair to Frozen. Yes, that's the message of the song, but the plot disagrees, and the protagonist changes her mind, which is the happy ending and the moral of the story. Not that it didn't have moral problems, but "Frozen" doesn't ENDORSE "Let it go."

Good advice, Andrew, to the fan who asked if it was OK for him to take up with his pal's ex-girl. However, many years ago that is exactly what I did, and despite it being very clear that my pal and the girl had been over and done for some time, my romance with her STILL caused such emotional chaos that we all three wound up going to the shrinks for months. Such a soap opera you would not believe! So I agree that THEORETICALLY such love-triangles can be negotiated in a civilized way--but the human heart is very deceptive, so just make sure you do not underestimate the dangers, and by all means, LET'S BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

Sex is about power .Female education is the most important factor that negatively affects birth rates. Demographics is destiny. A technophilic society is by definition rebellion against human nature itself. The fact of suffering and death is in tension with people's desire to be happy. This dynamic results in a self-destructive civilization. The Bronze Age Collapse was insignificant compared to what is coming...

Being careful is boring. I put my heart out there a couple of times, got it broken a couple of times, but I wouldn't change those experiences because I found my life mate. The bad experiences can grow us if we respond to them in the right way. It took me some time to get there but eventually I found my way home.

@@danielwessel9884 Yes. That's what I said to myself at the time. And the young lady was very lovely, sexier than Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca and--predictably--even more of a heartbreaker. So if I had the chance to do it again, I'd probably do exactly the same thing. But the cost was very high. Serious losses all the way around. So if I could give myself some advice from the future, I'd be the voice of Dooley Wilson, telling me that Ilsa and me were bad luck for each other.

Oh Klavan master of the multiverse, while your wisdom and brilliance are unmatched by any mortal, I have a problem with your depiction of Frozen. Frozen does not indicate that her rebellion is the right way. It shows that she is closing herself off to everyone. Which is immediately challenged by her sister, who wants them both to be together again. Frozen is coming of age story from a female point of view. Similar to how in the Lion King, the song Hakuna Matata is proven wrong in the movie. These songs are catchy because, ultimately, the faults that the songs are speaking to are real and many fall into them.
