Jacksonville has improved a lot since I first went there in the 1990s! The Baptist Church owns a lot of downtown and I don't think they're too keen on hipsterness, but there's still lots of variety in the larger area. I'm with Jamie @MidCenturyWasted, you can still travel and have all the fun you like without necessarily having to live in your vehicle. Plenty of options for you to live your best life, Jeffrey. Besides, Katie seems like a pretty great person to hang out with

Jeffrey you can still travel the country, even without doing full van life. We primarily do road trips and just stay in cheap motels. With all the expenses of the cost of the van, repairs, maintenance, more expensive gas… driving a regular car and staying in motels can be cheaper. I used to want an RV but have decided I prefer driving a regular car and staying in motels.

I have one phone but at least 100 books. We had 2 vehicles but we had a family of 6 who each owned a bike. I m so sorry you have had so much trouble with the "van life", but i do think you will enjoy life in Jacksonville and it seems like a much younger crowd with more things and places to enjoy, geared to a much more creative, lively atmosphere. Plus i think you enjoy the vintage reselling market. You and Katie could have a reselling live channel with a few items. Lots of possibilities, and you can still take random "van life" trips/excursions. Im thinking its a flawed computer in your van🤔Good luck🙂Having a few social parties sounds fun too😄

I live in Jax. Have all my life. It has changed so drastically over the past 15 years. My SUV has the same issues with the lights and the speedometer going to zero. I took it in and found out it was wheel sensors that had gone bad.

here's an fyi. Cows are very affection to their human caregivers, but when cows see the cow in front of them get slaughtered they feel a lot of fear and anxiety as they resist being next, but are forced to their death. Pigs are also very intelligent and could herd the other farm animals if the humans disappeared, but also resist being slaughtered and squeal for their life up to the end. Goats also very smart, super cute and affectionate with a lot of personality, try to escape and struggle against being restrained during the killing procedure. So many can't kill a cat or dog for food, but appear to be fine when it's other animals, loving animals. The China Study of 6,500 people over 20 yrs, concluded animal protein as the largest contributor of cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Worth thinking about. Worth learning about.

I didn't like Cheddars at all but my parents loved it. I wasn't surprised when it closed in Fairview Heights. I do enjoy Crown Candy but the neighborhood keeps me away. Sorry about the van. Jeffery! I have the same issue in my 2017 Jeep cherokee! I haven't met anyone who has ever experienced the same thing! Jeep has ZERO idea what's wrong with it! They think it needs a new engine.... when I am driving, all the lights come on, and the speedometer goes to zero as well as the gas.. no Joke, i was mad one day and shook the steerling wheel up and down, and it resets the whole car!!!LMAO! WTH.... So now i do it on a daily... WERID. I am thinking it has to be a sensor as well. But jeep has NO idea. Keep me updated. 😅 the struggle is real my friend 🫠🤯🥹

Oh no! Please don’t diss Crown Candy it’s the last of its kind and it didn’t abandon the neighborhood. Heck, a few years ago I was in line and the St. Louis Chief of police was ahead of me. If the Chief of Police eats there don’t be worried about the neighborhood. I always get a BLT and a chocolate malt when I go there. I have taken my grandsons many times and it’s a nice way to expand their horizons and give them a lesson in St. Louis history.

It's also on certain menus in China. I distinctly remember back in 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and these restaurants were asked not to put dog on their menus so as to not upset the visiting travelers. But then I read that some wete upset that it was not on their menus because they wanted to try local delicacy cuisine. Can't please everyone all the time.
