But...l think you need a real home, a bed, your decorating, your stuff, your sales show, and maybe, later on, a dog again. But it sure needs to be about YOUR happiness and peace of mind for a change. I am so sorry your vehicle failed. Many years ago, I bought a brand new Chevy Camero and I loved that car. The problem was, before it was paid off, I had one major repair bill after another. I lived close to work, so when I sold it, there was only 30,000 miles on it. I had spent many thousands of dollars repairing it. I am a patriotic person, but I have not owned an American car since and I have never been stranded due to a breakdown. I had to do what was best for me

I hate to say it Jeffrey but I never thought that life style would be suitable for you. You were good at what you did for a long time. After you moved to Florida I was surprised. That's not to say moving was a mistake, no. Sometimes people need a change, to try something different. You did that. But once you were in your Florida house, things moved so quickly. The money and work you invested in that. I think you would be happier with a place of your own. I wish you all the best in whatever you do. Take care ❤

Crazy noises, bangs, going into limp mode. Spent $1000+ at the machanic and they couldnt figure it out. Called my brother he said Alternator. Fixed that and the issues started up again. Jeffrey , you tried it and I don’t think it’s for you, at least you tried. My main thing against your van life odyssey was safety. There is a lot of crime around and you alone in the van would be a sitting duck. You must think of safety first. I trust no areas anywhere, things and evil can happen. If only you could find an apartment in Katie’s building, she’s a wonderful person and is true blue to you. Of course is none of my business what you decide to do but please I speak to you as I speak to one of my sons, security must come first sweetie. Love you ( Katie too) and ALL the very best!!

Too many frickin' "assist" lights ... I drive a car with manual windows and door locks and the only sensor is a "check engine" light. Actually, it's too old ... it's a '96 Toyota Rav4 I've had since 1999 and besides regular maintenance and oil changes, it's only cost me $1000 in repairs the whole time (air conditioning). I highly recommend buying "bare bones" vehicles without all the (literal!) bells and whistles. Maybe not as old as MY vehicle, but they do sell vehicles and vans with a minimum of "electronics" that are newer. As for solar, I would recommend a "suitcase" solar panel or a portable folding one that can be placed out without having to park your van in the hot sun.

@@dachshundmom9966 yep, plenty jobs at Amazon/FedEx, etc if your looking for a job with benefits. Heck, even Walmart. Don’t give up Jefferey. Always expect challenges, especially with new technology. You need to build up confidence and experience. An option could be to travel around just in Florida so you can get use to your situation. Travel for a month or so while staying close to support systems. If you need a break after that, take one. You can do anything you want to. I admire people that follow their dreams like you. I do know what it’s like when great expectations don’t line up with reality. One day at a time and have something to look forward to everyday. This will help you cope. Make up a list of solutions for when things go wrong so you don’t feel so unprepared. For example, you might get a flat one time. It will be on a dark rainy night when you are either on a busy road or in the middle of nowhere where. What would you do? Create an emergency preparedness plan. Go easy on your self. This is a big change. One thing is for sure, things will always go wrong.

Regarding stuff falling down etc. A longtime vanlife lady who is just in a minivan actually, always says to secure everything so it would stay put in a major collision for her safety. When we got our van, a very low build, we just used bunjees and straps on everything while in major transit. I gotta say it really is a smart move. You wouldn't think things would move, but when making that sudden stop now and then, things really do fly that you wouldn't think could. PS We just had tire pressure gauges go on too. They say it can take 20 mins of nonstop driving to reset them after filling. Also, with time, they just go bad but that can be tested which was about $50 at the dealership. All ours were still good surprisingly, but it took the mechanic to reset the light, as the 20 min driving didn't work for us...
