I agree with Katie's explanation. Also think the waitress could mention how the chef prepares a side and ask if that is to your liking. Tonight i ordered a garlic parmesan broccoli side. It was delicous. Lots of garlic. Looked like it was covered with rice. Wish me luck later. 😮

They broke up apparently. He sold his house in Florida, bought a camper, and inexplicably, moved in with Katie. I think his camper's generator is broken. That's the gist of it.

Hi Guys! I agree with Jeffrey on the broccolini, sides should be plain . . If I am paying, especially at a nicer restaurant, I would definitely send it back and get something else. Have sent many steaks back if not correct.

Jeffrey, cooking is an art form for Katie. Katie, cooking is a creative outlet for you, not a job. Katie, be creative, Jeffrey, allow her to be artistic with food. You don't have to eat it. I'm Katie, my husband is Jeffrey....

Jeffrey, you should go into that restaurant and straighten them out ha ha ha ha😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉
@ceciliahughes7403 сағат бұрын
Yes Katie you are correct. That’s what chefs do they create and that’s what a cook does they create usually that’s a very good restaurant and you go to that they’re creating extra special dishes or Jeffrey goes. He just wants to go to a diner or they just bring out bland food because that’s his Taste plain and simple let’s just say Jeffrey’s a plain and simple guy ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha😂😂😂😂😂🎉❤
@vintageandvinyl2 сағат бұрын
There is nothing wrong with plain and simple. Everybody has their tastes in life. And I will say, plain and simple is nice sometimes. But, I think most upscale and trendy restaurants now create whole dishes and like to be creative with the food.
@ceciliahughes7403 сағат бұрын
Asparagus is usually prepared grilled or steamed and there are different ways. You can prepare them and the chef does make those way up because that’s what a chef does. He creates meals. He creates food and vegetables are food.😂🎉

I must agree with Jeffrey on the brocollini. Also, if it was ordered seperate as a side I would have expected the server to tell you what was on it. Otherwise, I would have expected some seasoning. Sidenote Jeffrey: Katie buys hardboiled eggs at the grocery store, 😂

@ceciliahughes7404 сағат бұрын
It’s not gross sauce it’s pesto I’ve never had it prepared like that. I don’t think that I would like that, but all you had to do was send it back and explain that they didn’t specify that and the menu and they could’ve just easily made you more without the pesto.!🎉
@ceciliahughes7403 сағат бұрын
It’s unusual for broccolini to be served. That way I’ve never heard of pesto and broccolini. They should’ve stated that on their menu or they should’ve said that when you ordered it mostly steamed or grilled with squeeze lemon juice on it and drizzled with olive oil,
@ceciliahughes7403 сағат бұрын
No, it’s not too much to ask us Jeffrey. If I’m ordering something I wanna know how it’s being prepared because if I would’ve known that broccolini was going to have pesto on it I would’ve said absolutely not. No thank Kati is right just ask it doesn’t hurt to ask better to ask and not ask and get something you’re not happy with !!!!!!!!!🎉
@Jebbyfur614 сағат бұрын
Broccolini is an Italian broccoli. So they enhanced that. But since they only labeled it as broccolini and not with a sauce, I would have asked for it to be redone steamed. Now as a chef, unless a person asks for vegetables steamed when they order, I’d usually prepare them according to menu. So if Jeffrey likes them plain steamed, he just needs to order them that way from now on. It’s no big deal to the kitchen. Now there is something called truth in menu so the menu should accurately describe the dish. There are actually truth in menu laws in certain states. But Katie, I tend to disagree, as a chef it’s my job to make my customers happy. If they want plain I give them plain, just as I would serve them their eggs over easy, not hard.
@vintageandvinyl2 сағат бұрын
Oh, absolutely. They should make it so that the customer is happy. I just assume a lot of chefs at these restaurants don’t do things plainly. I would expect the customer to have ask for that and then they can accommodate. Especially, if it’s a trendy new upscale place that prides itself on creating unique dishes. The place we went was a seafood place that really wasn’t anything special. I would expect them to have more of a simple menu.

Our longform / main content is always free. The bonus content is just a little fun extra for folks that wish to give us a little something more each month. Think of it like a tip jar and we’re returning content as a thank you. Similar to if you went to a bar and tipped the live musician. They play for you and you give them a little something extra for their work. The videos that we provide as part of the subscription are more behind-the-scenes content . They are much shorter. Members also get some special photographs and emojis as an added thank you. No one is pressured to join the memberships, it’s just a little extra fun thing that helps us out and provides cool content for folks that do.

I agree with Jeffery, if it was listed as “broccolini” then that’s all I would expect. I wouldn’t expect it to come slathered in anything if it was not listed in the description. AND typically, if all the sides are heavy with the creams or flavors, like these sound, then there is usually one lighter (more plain) veggie offered as an option. I assume this is part of the reason Jeffery chose this side and was therefore disappointed. 🙂
