I manage a hotel on a beach that doesn’t stay warm year round (East coast USA) & during our slow season bcuz our company cuts back on labor, I schedule my front desk for 4 hrs then I cover the other 4 & that’s the best my front desk runs… minus the night audit bcuz the company won’t cut those overnight shifts if they think it’s gona get covered by ME. I can confirm that James is the worst employee I'd like to take on. Not to sound like a party killer but 4 hour shifts wouldn't work as an employer as its a domino effect due to if the person who starts after a 4 hour shift runs late or calls in sick, the person before them can't leave until the next person arrives which can cause mayhem. You wouldn't get a break either during a 4 hour shift & as an employee and as a employer now, people/employees take the piss.
