Just last week I came to your channel to see if I had missed any uploads. I was wondering about you and hoping everything was okay with you. I don't know you at all, but I enjoy your content for some reason, despite not really having any particular interest in model trains myself. I guess your content is somewhat therapeutic. Glad to see you're back, and I hope you are doing well.

Hello Sir! Being an Englishman (albeit living in Wales) I'm pretty familiar with the sights but 35006 is always worth seeing. 2807 spent many years at the scrapyard in Barry where it was the oldest locomotive for a long time. Lovely to see it working. The sheer scale and ambition of your layout is breathtaking, I've been following since your second video and each time I'm more impressed. It's magnificent. The other thing I love about your videos are the countless modelling tips, I have learned so much and put them to good use. Thanks for sharing, look forward to the next one!

Loved the Silverstone footage. I live just down the road, and we have a long tradition of watching The Red Arrows then having a BIG family and friends BBQ with the race on TV and the live sound right there in the background. Amazing to see your Railroad growing - you just don't get that epic scale of landscape in the UK. I have a space of 13'6" x 9'6"... and that is considered "large"!

The tunnel was a strange angle, nice job. I like all of your tunnels and trestles. Great trip to Silverstone. Hamilton went on a tear there for a while and then Verstappen took over for a while. I’ve been a NASCAR fan for years and probably went to 25 to 30 races, a lot of fun. The layout looks great and it’s so true that the hard shell changes the open benchwork drastically. Thanks for taking us along.

Impressive as ever. I didn't know Piko did US outline (assuming it's the same Piko as the German Piko). Glad you appear to have had a good time over here in England. The Red Arrows always put on a good show, all the more impressive as their Hawk aircraft are around 45 years old, which coincidentally is about how long it is since I last went to Thornbury Castle! Hi mate, Don’t usually comment on videos but had to complement your fastidious method at creating fantastic structures and scenery creation. And those new diesels are fantastic looking models 😎 Great to see you had a fantastic adventure when visiting our shores too. Not only did you see Lewis win, you got to sample the delights of one of our wonderful heritage railways…and you even managed to go on one that I have neglected to visit! We’ll be on the Swanage Railway in a couple of weeks and the Glos-Warks always struck me as being of similar feel but with different scenery, which you video has confirmed! 😄 As I say I do admire your work but rarely comment. However, this is perhaps my favourite that you have produced. Perhaps it was seeing Lewis win all over again that did it? 😉 Have a great week 👍🍀🍻

The new bridge looked, honestly, like a graphics glitch when I first saw the styrofoam shape. The angles were just all wrong. Even when you said why it had that shape my eyes couldn't make it work. Looked great in the end though! The weathering effects are just right. Same for the footings of the other bridge, great weathering. And yes those concrete feet made it look even better.

The layout is certainly coming along and looking good. Your skills are amazing and so enjoyable to watch. I am hoping to get back to my layout soon having been ill for the last three years with Complex PTSD but I am getting there. Got to insulate the loft before I can carry on. Too hot in the summer and far too cold in the winter at the moment. Glad you had a great time at Silverstone, my better half is into F1 and she has been to Silverstone. She cannot get enough of it along with supporting Arsenal, gives me plenty of time up in the loft with my layout. Well you certainly had the weather when you came over to our little island. So much history here that we constantly trip over it and just take it all for granted. My nearest castle is Arundel Castle just down the road. Two heritage lines nearby, Bluebell Railway and The Watercress Line. Regards Chris

Nice to see the SP. My father was an executive officer for the railroad. He was the Assistant General Superintendent System of Communications. At the time he was in charge the railroad had the largest privately owned microwave system in the world. From that his engineers/engineering department and staff along with the General Superintendent developed a company called SPCC. Southern Pacific Communications Company. Later be known as SPRINT .

I've always enjoyed watching you build your layout such a lot of work goes into it. Plus it reinforces a fact that I've always struggled with (is it ok to just put a bit more track on this section?) that you can't have too much track. I hope should you return to the UK you have the opportunity to visit my local railway to travel on the settle to Carlisle line.
@rcgrabbag4 ай бұрын
I will say that my layout is an older style, and purposely so for my own reasons, but after seeing tracks switchbacking through the mountains in Switzerland, it just goes to show you that somewhere in the world is an actual railroad that’s doing what you want to do on your layout. Or at least, same level of crazy.

@@rcgrabbagyup always check your page for a new video. Based my double track trestle on your design. Yeah I always enjoy the recap AND the random stuff at the end. As for overview idea it might be cool to see a walk through of the entire layout maybe describing what each area is supposed to be and then once you “complete” the layout a compare and contrast video? Just random idea 🤷🏼♂️I just love your videos and selfishly want more and more lol

Been watching this as it has progressed and its pretty neat, BUT, I have one observation...From 10:00 - 13:34 your layout looks more like three shelves stacked up instead of tracks having been built 'THROUGH' the existing terrain... Mother Nature rarely just happens to have three perfectly level, parallel, flat lines just waiting for someone to build a railroad on top of the pre-existing flat areas...For all the phenomenal work you have put in so far, I am surprised you would have overlooked that obvious detail... Scenery in mountains never just stops at track level; rather, the tracks are cut THROUGH the scenery...Adding some extra rocky area jutting above the track levels, or even making a large rocky area that thats been dynamited through would add immensly more realism ... If you look at the very top track level, it looks like the tracks were built at the very top of a mountain ridge that just happened to be perfectly flat and level... No mountains are ever perfectly flat across the top in real life....The only thing this layout needs is some more raised areas above track leves to make it look like the railroad runs THROUGH the mountains, and not just laying on top of them....
