I love that I can count on you to recognize Heavenly Mother whenever possible in this podcast. I had learned of the Sun of Righteousness as a female deity from Margaret Barker's book "Mother of the Lord Vol 1: The Lady of the Temple" and from S & A Worth's book "Mother in Heaven." It seems like even among LDS scholars who believe we have a Mother there, it takes a great amount of courage to go where the research has taken them and acknowledge Her publicly or point out potential spots where references to her had been hidden. Thank you for not letting me down in regards to Malachi 4:2.

I think that "the promises made to the fathers" has at least two meanings: 1- God promised all those who would live on the earth without the gospel that they would have the chance to make covenants with Him through the efforts of the children (family history & temple work); 2- Each one of us promised specific ancestors that we would find them and do their work. It is this last interpretation that drives me to family history work. Who did I promise I would find?

Just a few of the scriptures that came to mind- John 15: 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he *purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are *clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing Doctrine and Covenants 20: 77 O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and *sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it, that they may eat in *remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always *remember him and keep his commandments which he has given them; that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen. …that if we chose to make and keep sacred Covenants, we can be blessed and sanctified, “purged” and made clean that our offering will be accepted. Jerimiah 17: 7 Blessed is the (wo)man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. 8 For (s)he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out *her *roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but *her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
