I'm following along with this, it's a big help so thanks for that, but I noticed something you might have done wrong - at 10:38 when you change MaxTransfer to 1ef00, you clicked OK before pressing Enter on the keyboard. Every time I did this, when I clicked on Change again to make sure it had saved my setting, it had reverted to ffffff. It only saves your setting if you remember to hit Enter. The guide you linked gave me the clue as to what I was doing wrong, it says "Now click Enter (important!) and then click OK."

haha you are 100% correct. Well spotted. The image I'm using is working, so either I did it correctly on the other image and forgot on this one, or it didn't matter. Not sure. Glad the rest of the video was helpful to your though. Good luck with your fresh install :)

@@005AGIMA It ended up asking me for a "Locale" disk which I didn't have, so I gave up and went to bed 🤣 I thought I had a full set of 3.1 disks, will have to write an ADF and try again tonight. Fun, haha

I was wondering why you needed to copy the Install disk - I think this is only because when you defined the drive type there is a default file name. As you didn't change it I think it's saved the drive definition to the install disk. You can redirect this to the RAM disk (RAM:) and it will work without needing to modify the install disk.

Ah those grab handles are fiddly. I ended up having to type in the boxes to get the size I required due to oversized drive. Ah and pressing enter after typing in the boxes, always forgetting that.

@@005AGIMA I had a look at that Dan's shop and was shocked by Aussie prices. :) I'd recommend the Glen Moray Sherry Cask for 60 bucks as an affordable sweet speyside.

Just spray a little contact cleaner on the sensors should be two small ones

Yeah I did do that when the machine was in bits, and it's made it "better" than it was, but as you can see, it still has its moments.
