I love this. I used to own a small HVAC company. I started it to have more free time and give my customers a fair deal. I felt like the companies that I worked for only cared about money and not thier employees or customers. For the first year. I made good money and had plenty of free time. The second year my business really grew and I had to hire crews to do the work. By the third year I was working 60+ hours a week for free just to keep my crews busy so I could afford to pay them and give them benefits. By the fifth year It had grown out of control. I had problems with employees stealing from me and having to pay to do the work. Then on top of it I had no free time. I closed my business and took a job working for the very people I had tried to get away from in the first place. This was all with the plan of being a small shop that really took care of the customer. But the word spread like wildfire that my company was fair and honest and wouldn't rip people off. I now work for a Native Alaskan company that its profits go to fund the village where they are from. I have found that there is meaning to every job. Especially if you don't work for share holders. In the company I work for they care for their employees. I have seen lots of wonderful things they do when people are in need. Like fund raising for a person whos house burned down during a wild fire. To helping a guy through cancer treatments. My point is you can still work for someone else and keep your values and instil them in other people.
