EP 19 - Pinkfooted Geese Limits

A mid week sortie in South East Norfolk proved worth taking the morning off for. I shot poorly with the Beretta A400 lite and Gamebore Mammoth 3inch steel 1s and 3s but had a thoroughly enjoyable time trying to decoy Pinkfooted Geese into range. There was a light South Westerly first thing but this built upto about 20mph by the end of the morning. The geese were landing about 600 yards to the North West of me but I was able to decoy plenty away from the main gang.

How do you find the beretta?

Do you know you’ve just made me realise that I should do a video of it. I love it but I have to say knowing what I know now I wouldn’t bother with a 3.5 inch again, I’d just go for a 3 inch again. It’s an absolute killing machine but I’m not sure that they’re really good value due to their price. Been a game changer adding the Kicks High Flyer modified choke for birds over 30 yards. I don’t use it when on splashes shooting birds under 30 yards.

@@norfolkfowlers1973 everyone is always harping on about inertia guns but my fabarm is gas and I love it. But its well past its sell by date. I see the 400 upland is around the 1500 mark. Think I mite go for that one. Which model do you use?

@@dodgsr2009 I have an A400 Extreme. I also have an A400 light and it’s lovely to use but the blueing is shocking so I may get it Cerakoted. My son will be in that as soon as he can. Probably two seasons away from that though.

@@norfolkfowlers1973 its mostly walked up shooting i am at so the extreme would be waisted on me. I am looking at the maxus to. I would be interested to see a review video of the guns. Most of the videos you see are in America and its nice to get a perspective from this side of the pond

@@dodgsr2009 then I’d recommend A400 light or maybe the Frenchi Affinity which is quite light. You definitely don’t want to be laughing an Extreme around if it’s walked up. Typically I get my old sxs or o/Us out if I’m walking up. Far nicer to be able to break a gun over your arm when walking up then lugging an auto around with you.
