Sechs Kies (gen 1) and TVXQ (gen 2) both had members who were educated in a foreign country so that they can communicate in English on behalf of the group. Then Super Junior (gen 2) started off the trend of actually creating a sub-unit with mostly foreign members to promote their songs outside of Korea (Super Junior M in China).

For intl fans, here's a brief summary of what happened! All the groups are playing a relay game to get dessert for their team. They have coffee, ice cream, watermelon and cake, and every time a member gets an answer wrong, they have to choose and give up one dessert item. TXT went first and played "who's the celebrity" where they saw a picture and had to name who the idol or celebrity was. Beomgyu was a (very cute) black hole and TXT eventually ended up giving up all four desserts because they couldn't succeed in the mission. Next, Fromis9 went, and since all the members are Korean, they played a game where they had to complete a Korean idiom (for example, the answer to a question like "the early bird" would be "gets the worm"). They cutely argued their way out of some problem spots but eventually managed to succeed in two tries, and they shared their desserts with TXT who didn't get any. Hope this helped!
