but wait. you have fitted normal (all season?) street tires but have a heavy all terrain spare. Wouldnt it have made more sense to use either a street spare or dumb it and carry another box? and wouldnt make more mass further back make it more likely to understeer?

Nomad is on All Terrain Yokos all around, the spare is a Mud Terrain BFG from another set of wheels that I have at home. There's no point in having two different spares since they are... spare ;) Weight in the back makes is more prone to snap oversteer, when you lose it suddenly, not progressively. Also there's more inertia at play when suddenly changing direction.

I'm surprised more people don't die on the ring. I'm an amatuer by all accounts and cringed as he almost hit the guard rail in his "warmup" routine because of his hand position/shuffeling skills. Enter first corner on the ring completely opposite of anything you would consider a racing line. The ring is a very very big boy track.. they should really require all new drivers to bring a guide with them.

Or at least prove they can drive with a license fr9m a sanctioning body like the FIA. Here in the states you need a SCCA or NASA license to be allowed on some of our racetracks if its not a club day, and clubs usually have instructors on the track setting the pace for everyone to keep it safe.
