Adam Thank you for doing these videos. It have helped me sooo much. I started building a 801, but it’s nut pre drilled. I spent a lot of time measuring before drilling. After considerable thought, decided to go to a predrilled 750, it almost feels like cheating now. I watch your videos like a show,it have made more confident in building. Hopefully, I’ll run into you sometime to shake your hand and thank you in person Sham

I'm actually building A Smith Sidewinder from a gentleman who passed away a couple years ago. So I'm a first-time builder and watching your videos for recommendations of tools to get supplies to get workbenches to build the amount of room and some of the procedural stuff. I'm in Tulsa Oklahoma so I'm probably not that far be it past you

Hey Adam, Merry Christmas to you and your family...! Thanks for this video, I’m sure there is a lot to deal with re landing gear. I helped a friend re & re his gear a few years ago before he could finish installing the main struts, something about the main bracket support reaming holes for the struts. I tried calling you about gear in general. I’m building the SD as well, but my engineering challenge is retractable. My mission is for a SD, first of it’s kind with retract, 16 to 27” main tires, I’m working with Beringer Aero to retrofit their product into my build. I have access to CNC, or other milling machines to fab up my prototype. I have several options on how to. Also, I’m considering the first slat retract as well. I’m building the fuselage first though, so slats are back burner for now, if ever. I’m going to use EM actuators and BLDC motors to accomplish full articulations of the mains, and a sweep back 90 degree twist on the nose. Thus I’m experimenting with how I’m going to accomplish this. It will lay flat under the belly between the two seats. I plan to shroud the gear with an aerodynamic belly fibreglass fairing. I’m also planning a Viking 195 Turbo with electric VIP, 5 bladed DUC prop. Basically I want an Alaskan Bush plane STOL, with a Cruzer option haha. So, seeing this Gear video is helping me. Will you do more?

Would it not be better to use nuts and bolts instead of the rivets? On the top of the gear strutt fitting ?

Hi, John from Ontario Canada, I'm building a 750 stol and need some guidance for the main landing gear, it seems like I have to cleco the gear strut fitting and drill out the corosponding rivit holes into it?

The gear and brackets are all aluminum.

Yeah you pretty much step on the tundra tire and slide in backwards. I’m going to try and get seats done soon so I can really see how difficult it’s going to be.
