Seeing all those singed plastic bags really emphasized the Mag-nitude of the kaboom old mate. What a flaming relief neither of you were hurt and Nutshell did not sustain critical damage!👍

Hi whotknots. It was amazing that Nutshell survived as well as she did. We are rebuilding her. It's taking time but we'll get there. W.

That's an interesting way to show the reassembly of poor old Nutshell, much better than having long episodes of sadly broken parts being fixed. I have limited experience of a task such as that but I'm impressed at the way you tackle it as just another part of what you do, an event like that is life changing to a lot of people but you just see it as another chapter of the book ! Good on yer guys !
@LifeinaNutshell4 жыл бұрын
The job was to big to tackle in one go so we are just gently putting her back together as we go.

If you have any spare pieces of teak you can sand it and collect the dust, mix it with some wood glue to make a putty you can fill those holes with. takes stain well and will not be as visible as driving in pieces of teak.
@LifeinaNutshell4 жыл бұрын
Great idea. I’ll collect the dust as we sand things.

Try a spoon lure everything eats them and a good glue to use on teak is epi glue from international easy to use and drys clear tape around the edgers of the cracks to minimise mess light sand with 320 sand paper with a small flat bit of wood to fair it down then varnish and the repair will blend in hope this helps you put her all back together MV Joy-c

Thanks for the info. I am just about to buy some more glue so I will give it a go. Cheers

Please, if taking oysters off the rocks, do not leave shell on the rock. The smoothness of the inside of the shells prevents more oysters from growing there ever again.

Thanks for the info. We will do that in the future.

what happens when an oyster dies on the rocks? they do die naturally dont they?? just asking, I ve seen big piles of oyster shells where octopus has eaten them and nothing grows on them. You would thing something would eat them.

I don’t think you’re having those fire extinguisher bombs basically or a good idea I don’t know if you’ve seen them explored but they’re very powerful and I don’t know how sensitive they are to heat leak in the engine room you might want to reconsider that you don’t want that thing to go off anywhere near you
@LifeinaNutshell4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. We might reconsider the mounting location in that case.
