This confused me too and asks the question why is it like that? Why wouldn't your superior strength be added to attacks with melee?

@@nightwind67 Paraphrasing something I read from the designer: wanted the monster ACs to be in a familiar range for anyone coming from D&D, while averaging a good amount of success and avoiding HP bloat. So modifiers help you hit more consistently, but damage is based more on the weapon than the user

It’s all good, though. ShadowDark also specifically invites you to make it work at your table: “ What's written in this book is a guide, not a constraint, and none of it takes precedence over your judgment. If something doesn't work at your table, change it or throw it out and don't look back.”

Did you guys upload all of these Shadowdark themed icons and what not on to Roll20 yourselves? I'm new to the site and didn't see anything referencing SD playability. I guess for the character sheets you would have just had to do those manually and not use the ones they provide?

I don't know if your address this later on in the video but at the point where I'm at right now you short change yourself on your hip points and you also Short change yourself on one point for your attack. You get your Constitution modifier on your first level hit points, and you have that weapon master that gives you a plus one to melee or ranged

I love this game system and have been looking for a representation of gameplay I have seen many try but you guys have nailed the feel of Shadowdark ( adding modifiers to damage excepted, 5e hangover). Kudos. This is the game as I believe Kelsey designed it. Subscribed

Doesn’t 3 torch take only 1 space?

A single torch takes one space. In the Crawling Kit, you get two torches. Together, they take up two slots. You might be thinking of rations. In any event, all gear beyond typical clothing takes up one gear slot unless noted.
