To avoid the splotchiness you first apply sanding sealer before staining. I used to live next door to a painter and he taught me that. The difference sanding sealer makes is amazing.

Love watching you guys work together. I'm a single mom of 5 completely renovating an 1892 brick 2200sf farmhouse by Myself. Even though I'm the 1st person everyone counts on to come help them do Anything and Everything, no one shows up to help me. EVER😢 I wired it myself. I plumbed it by myself. Had to hire "professional" spray foam insulators for $10,000 and then had to go in and fix all the mistakes they made. Now I'm trying to drywall it by myself. Keep in mind. I'm 5'4" and 100lbs lol. And my family that I'm always there for, who won't show up for me, treat me like the biggest piece of sh*t because I haven't finished it yet. I also have 2 acres of land to take care of. If I'm working on the yard they say I should be working on the house and vice versa. I can't win for losing😢
