Great tongue and cheek review with a lot of seemingly impromptu humor. The down in the dumps longing for my come uppance mood kept me from delving deeper into their music when I was younger, but it became more and more endearing as adolescence gave way to the darkness of adulthood and some rays of sunshine peaked through the abyss combined with some innovative melodies and a lot of compelling and innovative mood pieces that have stood the test of time and a number even seem quintessential and totally original in retrospect. Their appeal grows wonderfully like a fungus on a mushroom with the weathering and darkness of the years passing by. 1. Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me- fabulous aging like fine wine into a classic with the great wah wah post-psychedelic guitar auora on the opener, falling for someone's whose memory could never be caught once time had passed by, innovative percussion and vocal and instrumental experimentation, their best song Just Like Heaven with the most engaging guitar riff and most enticing hook and melody, and the fabulous in your face Fight among many others. 2. Head on the Door 3. Wish- 4. Disintegration - like the album quite a bit but never understood with the repetitive drum beat for a double album and the relative uniformity compared to the ones above, why this one was placed atop the rest by most everyone, though Pictures of You and Love Song are two of their best. 5. Pornography

I’m glad we agree on our number one. It’s a double album but doesn’t drag like some other double albums tend to.

It feels like the more albums made, the less of a band they are and more of a Robert Smith solo. There is no one to stop his self indulgence. The cure self titled album was a highlight, thanks to having a producer who wanted to capture the band live

I can’t disagree there! The last album I thought was solid all the way through was Disintegration. They went gradually downhill from there.

@@jeffwhitchervinyldestinati4486 Wish is a Masterpiece, as well as Bloodflowers but I can understand. I'd say Disintegration is the last album where Robert Smith wasn't as controlling about what the band did and is less of a perfectionist

Cure rule! Bloodflowers, Wish, Disintegration and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me are some of my favorites. A Letter To Elise is one of my favorite tunes.

Don’t forget… Japanese whispers… Which could be considered a collection of different singles but still onto a self the album in between pornography and the top win Robert Smith was playing with Siouxsie and the banshees.

Some people may call it carried away I call it passion and love for a band and I think it’s lacking now a days.. I can totally remember getting to arguments or long debates with my rocker friends over what Iron Maiden album is best or Which is better Metallica or Anthrax.. lol.. Revisiting the cure`s self titled album in recent year i did not like it when it released but i have to say i like it a lot more then wild mood swingsm4:13 dream & even the majority of bloodflowers

If there’s one band that has a slam dunk #1 album in its discography, it’s The Cure with Disintegration. Don’t get me wrong, Kiss Me is a great album too but Disintegration is what put them in The Hall of Fame. -Russ

Agreed! If not for that album they would not have near the fans they do today. All my college roommates were into heavy metal but Disintegration was the one Cure album they all liked.

Props for putting Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me above Disintegration… that’s a bold move! I don’t disagree, although I put Pornography at the top personally, but I almost never see anyone else who thinks Kiss Me… is a better album than Disintegration!

Although I consider Depeche Mode to be better than The Cure, I'll always have a lot of respect for The Cure. Pornography will always be my favourite, but Kiss Me is also not bad either! Gonna see then live in Oslo in October!

Cure looks really cool. just like other bands Van Halen solid early years later years no good same as Judas Priest early years very good 90's 2000's not so good Def Leppard same up to Anderalize good albums after that down the drain should the cure be any different? eliminating is very hard to do. any songs from the wish album appear on MTV? number 2 is a surpriser I would have thought it would have been number 1?

Man, I walked into a record store last summer and picked up most all of there discography for like a buck and album and I still smile when I think about that day. I love that band and robert smith could sing the back of a cereal box and I'd love it! Lol. I like your rankings, but for me disinigration is top and pornography's number 2. I am going to go back and listen to kiss me, kiss me, kiss me now tho. Cheers!
