I had a hilarious moment there at the end when we were getting a preview of the next podcast. Mike was talking about a man who wanted to be king, wasn't chosen, got upset, the gathered his followers to fight... I was thinking, "O Snap! Talking Scripture just got political (thinking he was taking about Donald Trump😂)!" When he finally referenced Lucifer it all made sense. Then again, the Book of Mormon is written for our day so it does make you wonder. In the end I'm grateful you guys focus on core doctrines, principles, and universal applications. We have enough political rhetoric in the world these days.

The Book of Mormon gives us political principles for our days. We can study the Title of Liberty for these principles. The Book of Mormon teaches the importance of defending religious liberty, the family, and our borders. Then we can see which party or candidates support these principles.

Or, maybe he is Pahoran trying to keep king-men from taking over the govt. It all depends on your interpretation of facts. Your comment was the first thing I saw when I clicked on this video, hoping for a little spiritual uplift. Maybe leave the partisan politics for other types of channels?

May I correct your comment, when you said “he’s back in your life” he never left you! You are back in his life! Children need to understand that repentance is his gift, waiting patiently for you and that he is always there!

I (Bryce) understand what you’re trying to say, but I don’t think I want to teach my children that in their times of sin, they were no longer in His life, but now that they repented they’ve come back into His life. That would suggest he kicks us out of His life when we sin. I think it’s more accurate to say we remove Him from our lives when we sin. King Benjamin, in the book of Mormon, taught: “…if ye should transgress and go contrary to that which has been spoken, that ye do withdraw yourselves from the Spirit of the Lord, that it may have no place in you to guide you in wisdom’s paths that ye may be blessed, prospered, and preserved-“ (Mosiah 2:36). Repentance is a restoration of a personal relationship that WE harmed. He didn’t harm the relationship. We harmed it and now we need to restore that personal relationship. That’s what we meant by having him “back in our life.” We have restored that personal relationship.

We so appreciate your podcasts each and every week. So easy to understand and learn from. Recently, you gave a story about a horse and his value which increases and increases over time. I would like the story. How can I find that particular story?

I feel like the example of Eve and avoiding sin is wrongly placed... As the Mother of All Living it was her responsibility as part of the priestesshood to partake of the Fruit, so all of us could enter into mortality. She rescued Adam physically and therefore all of us as well. I personally praise her for her faithful choice.

Given her character, I would hope to think that Eve would feel very comfortable, saying something like Moroni says at the end of the Book of Mormon: “Condemn me not because of mine imperfection, neither my father, because of his imperfection, neither them who have written before him; but rather give thanks unto God that he hath made manifest unto you our imperfections, that ye may learn to be more wise than we have been” (Mormon 9:31). The Lord doesn’t seem to hold back on including what might be considered uncomplimentary moments in the lives of incredibly great people. Some people think it’s taboo to talk about such moments, as if it somehow condemns them. But as Moroni suggests, they are given so that we can be “more wise.“ I believe it is in perfect harmony with the character of a mother as well as the mother that we use something from her life to improve our own. To create safeguards against errors and prevent mistakes. That verse in Moses has helped me teach thousands of youth to guard against temptation. I’d like to think that mother Eve is pleased with that.

@@talkingscripture Thank you. I feel pretty silly-selfish at times, drinking from the fire hose of all your work and time to bless us with this knowledge and then still ask for more. I appreciate you looking into it. I want to put those quotes in my scriptures. Thank you again!!
