Really enjoyed watching this. Love Les and Sue on the show (and in the audience), and looking forward to the next episode. For those playing close attention, you gave the teacup answer earlier in the episode as 1945, so for those of us less privy to history still have a chance at the answer. Sound and video has cleared up a bit too. Overall, I think it's great. Nice job to you all!

Hey David, if you're struggling with sound issues look up Rode mics, you can get them to plug in a phone and other options, you could hide it on the table, very sensitive and clear. It's what a lot of KZbinrs and podcasters use. Not a lot of money, under 100 quid and you'll have good clear audio. You can often daisy chain laveliers off them. Rode is industry standard. 1945 is the answer. All the best

I'm sorry for being so late (again), to this game, but I think the answer to your question is, Reneé Lalique died on May 1, 1945. @@DavidHarperAntiques *This is such a great show* David. So entertaining but I really love and appreciate how you are educating us (the viewer), in a fun setting. Yes, the jewellery would be interesting and also items that were once valuable and practically worthless today; suggestions like furniture (ie maybe inlaid wood small side table); China (ie Doulton figurine); crystal; silver and silver plate; art; coins; royal family memorabilia; vinyl records; old toys etc. I find it shocking how costly some items once were but have since lost their value. Thanks David, have a lovely week.

That epergne thingie was a big thumping lump. I'd have said majolica-style too and was thinking 1890-1900, but anywhere except English. Those colors have Italian written all over them. (and good luck shifting it in the USA, unless someone wanted it to throw their keys in. Price.. I'd say here ask USD$80 and take whatever you can get! Pastels don't sell as a rule.) The blue looked like a Lalique-wannabe vase without its silver rim or a biscuit jar missing its lid, but the stickers are all over where the marks and telltales ought to be. Couldn't see a darned thing. I don't see enough Lalique to know it on sight. (Lalique jewelry I'd know at 50 feet away!) Without the rim... I guessed 700 pounds. History question: George 2. Hester Bateman silver marrow scoop. Price here... this vintage costume jewelry lady guessed ... 400 pounds? Probably yesterday's price or at least yesterday's dream price. Or women's rights convention price! IIRC Mr Lalique died at the tail end of WWII, 1945.
@DavidHarperAntiques2 жыл бұрын
it’s amazing how the market changes. The Majolica comport would have been close to £1000 here 20 years ago!
