I agree, God is big enough to handle my questions!

Thank you. Great book which helped me a lot. Aged 77 and coming to the same conclusions - it can be difficult extricating yourself but I just keep reminding myself of the countless number of brave souls who had confronted orthodoxy over the years when the penalties were so much higher. We have to seek out truth - it is a mission for anyone with a brain that works.

Thank you for the feedback! It is a wonderful, expansive path leaving the spiritual and mental confines devised by religious hierarchies to keep a tight rein on the slave species. But it also feels lonely and unstable at times. Trust your intuition!

This video describes me so well... I have gained God, knowledge, love, peace, truth, and so much more taking my questions to the Father and allowing Him to lead me.

What is really cool is that two "Jaysons" just commented back to back. What are the odds? But yes, thank you for the comment. I agree...this truly is the born again experience!

My pastors always encouraged us to do the research on our own and not to take him at his word. But of course, the implication was we would come to the same conclusion as he or else we were wrong.

Well, first we are taught how to think, and then the assumption is, like you said, that we will use the same old lenses provided to us to filter everything through, so that we comply with our subcultural belief system. I had plenty of experience with "do the research on your own don't take my word for it" approach until I did that, LOL. It's okay to do it until it isn't!
