Very decent mix of CGI and traditional anime. Something that has so far been elusive. Knights of Sidonia was probably the first Anime series to really go full CGI with an anime style, and Obsolete has used a more realistic style to the characters, but otherwise a very anime looking design and backgrounds.

That's what's great and sells the realism. When u see the other episodes you will see it take place not in America and also not in japan (a mecha anime not in Japan, a very rare sight indeed). As said in this episode it seems the UN tried to ban the use of these mechs, at least for war, but because the UN has no real authority it would be places like India and Pakistan that would start using these things in combat while the other nations like the usa would outwardly show theyaren't, but using spies to try to research how these places have implemented it.

Rather than the neural phsychic aspects, what people would really be studying these for is their power system. That's what would interest us the most. Portable, small, lightweght, doesn't seem to give off a bunch of radiation, lasts a long time presumably given how we've seen them used in some countries so far... That's the real part we'd want from these.
@tnbison5 жыл бұрын
Interesting the way they explained the symbiotic control of the Exo Frame. Thus far they haven't fully explained the exact circumstances on how it does what it does by Episode 5. Reminds me of 'Protoculture' from the classic American adaptation Robotech series. 'Protoculture' is a clean fusion power source that offers limitless energy compared to other sources. But it also gives machines a 'Human' like quality of motion and control, due to the energy field that emanates from it. A symbiotic field that connects between Man and machine. But the outstanding question is. Why would Space Faring aliens, offer this tech to a bunch of 'backwater, sweet home Alabama, hairless monkeys on a back water, 3rd rock from the Sun'. For Limestone?!! That's the question I want to know. If they can travel from star system to system, they don't have mining capabilities!?!! Why barter when they could take it. They are rules to what they are doing and I wouldn't be surprised that this is some sort of social experiment and the Humans are the test subjects. Like introducing a object in a controlled setting to see the results on how they will use the new stimulus. In the 2nd episode, we literally saw the Exo Frames used agriculturally. And turned into Guerrilla warfare units that took down a unit of Abrams and destroyed a pontoon bridge. Not even gonna bring up where was their air support when the attack happened. But nevertheless, they got their asses handed to them!!! If Limestone is that important to them, that is what we need to find out. Limestone could be a component in a step of a clean energy source that will benefit the whole planet, versus Exo Frames which are plunging the whole world into conflict and war.
@BigEpinstriping4 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking about this since the trailer for the 2nd season dropped. I don't think the peddlers are aliens, I think they're opportunistic humans from the future. They are attempting to alter the future by introducing the Exo to humanity early, rather than letting humans create them on their own. The limestone exchange may just be a cover. It may have a practical use, but it may also just be what they selected because limestone is available on pretty much every continent in large amounts.

And yeah, by my guess, the observer was actually Chinese. Chinese have been taking active military interest since 1947 in the region. I am just amazed by the research on political front these guys have done to come with the story. Overall Superb!! Would like to see more !
