I was a child when this happened. My father was in the army and he used to follow the story in Blitz. When I was in high school a song “Hang down your head Nanavati” ….. used to be played. Years rolled on and I lost track of the case. I once saw a report that his children had filed a mercy petition in court. Your video reminded me of a long forgotten story. I am glad that he lead a near normal life in Canada and died a natural death.

So many facts were presented incorrectly in this video. 1. KM Nanavati had gone to undergo Naval training at the Royal British Navy, London not to study. 2. He was a Commander in the Indian Navy not a LT. Commander 3. The name of Sylvia's lover was Prem Ahuja not Rajesh Ahuja 4. Manekshaw was Nanavati's middle name, his first name was "Kawas"

Tahir sir, aap ki maximum stories mai sunta hu and I feel that this story was fully truth as displayed in movie "Rustom". Aap ki story thori Rustom se alag hai. One another thing I noticed that there is no service revolver for any naval person. In navy they are having Armoury where all arms are kept in lock and seal.

I don't think this case was the last case of jury trial. Last case was in 1973. Correct me if wrong. To add Nanavati was a commander not Lt.Cdr. I wrote this because I saw the video today. Crime tak is doing a great job. Keep it up.

Yes , the chapter of jury trials wasn’t over yet. A 1969 report of the Law Commission that reviewed the Code of Criminal Procedure noted that “juries are being used only in a very few cases by the Courts of Sessions” and repeated the call for total removal. In an email interview, researcher Ramnath said, “Since the provision on jury trials remained part of the law after the [Nanavati] trial, it is quite possible that other criminal courts continued to use juries.”
