​@@gideontaubert5983 oops I made a mistake, it also would've taken time for the sound to travel to be able to hear, which means it would've actually landed sooner than was heard. *pushes up glasses* this means If the time it took before the rock was heard, was 47 seconds, the distance traveled would've been 1.18 miles, however sound travels about 1 mile a sec, you could than estimate the rock would've landed roughly 1 sec before it was heard. which is a 46 second fall or roughly a mile deep.

No worries man and no, the price was not directly stated but he offered to pay 15 copper and neebs said well then you just have to get it without the warranty. Guessing thtat means warranty = 5 copper. However I think that I might have done a mistake on my part aswell. Haha, I think I'm overthinking the contents of a cartoon here x)

+MrNeutross the warranty comes with the broom. The general offers 15 copper and Neebs declines saying that the broom is worth more. After the general threatens to kill Neebs and take the broom, Neebs says he will have a broom without a warranty - the warranty comes with the price of the broom, however if the broom were stolen/not purchased, it wouldn't have a warranty. So he did overpay by 20 copper.

I did some math, the rock fell for aprox. 42 seconds, the acceleration of the stone will be equal to the gravitational acceleration (9.81m/s2). Assuming the rock does not experience resistance from the air the 'bottemless pit' is actually 8.7 kilometres deep (give or take). Given the Geigh kingdom has an European like climate, temprature under ground would be 14+3*(dept/100m) meaning the bottom of the pit would have a temprature of 274°C. I'm suprised they didn't burn up when digging that pit.

that's the temperature of the underground with out taking in to account the ventilation of the air after it was exposed. Heat flows constantly from its sources within the Earth to the surface, most of the internal thermal energy would probably be transported to the atmosphere. Now i am not sure about the rate of the heat loss (watts) and whether it's enough to not melt their flesh out of their body or not, i hope someone can clarify this.

Okay first off, you would have to assume gravity is inacting at a earth constant of 9.81m/s². Second, using the time the object hits the ground and then when the sound travels up again assuming the temperature outside is a constant 20°c.
