Good call Marc. Sun Resorts us where we stay when in Mesquite. We also met Irene Iron in the park last time we stayed there. Proximity to Smith's and the gas station is unparalleled. ⛽😎

We’ve thought about stopping in Mesquite. Nice to see your episode covering it. When you pulled out of the campground there was a Jack behind your left wheels that looked like it was not up all the way. Does it usually sit that low? Nice picture of the snow squalls coming across the desert. Glad you made it back safe!! Ram 👍🏼👍🏾
@GrandAdventure8 ай бұрын
Thanks, bud! Yep, that jack was all the way up. In its location directly behind the rear wheels, we've never hit anything with it.
@usmcshepherdE910 ай бұрын
You all have so much travel experience I am curious no your thoughts double towing? I have a smaller 5th wheel like yours and would like to haul a sxs or motorcycle behind me when traveling to some locations. Thoughts?
@GrandAdventure10 ай бұрын
We've never done it, but we wouldn't have any reservations as long as the primary trailer is a fifth wheel, the hitch for the secondary trailer is appropriately rated, and it's legal to tandem tow in the state(s) you'll be driving in. Realize, of course, that it would make any kind of reversing a nightmare.

The exact same way, Bob.

Really nice fin-ally, Marc. Looking forward to next week's annual highlights coverage. When you travel to the Q, I gather you don't take your RV if it's snowed in. What do you do, rent one nearby? How does that work out? It would be nice to come this year but I've already taken my vacation time and must continue with the job until I retire. Enjoy, Gord
@GrandAdventure10 ай бұрын
Thank you, Gord! We look forward to having you join us at the Q in a future year. We always bring our own rig, we just have to make sure that it doesn't snow on our travel days.
@gorrdd10 ай бұрын
@@GrandAdventure Marc, I gather it's continually 'on again - off again' throughout the winter... like you showed in your video. Always trying to slip between the snow squals. What is the general temperature differential and altitude differential between your SLC RV park and the Q, in January? Gord
@GrandAdventure10 ай бұрын
@@gorrdd The difference is substantial, Gord. Winters in the Salt Lake Valley are quite temperate. In January, our coldest month, it's normally in the 40s during the day and upper teens/low 20s at night, whereas at the same time in Quartzsite it's typically in the 60s during the day and 40s at night. Of course, there can be decent variations from "normal" in either location.
@gorrdd10 ай бұрын
@@GrandAdventure Thanks Marc. The Q is like it is here in DFW. The SLV is 20° less, but not terrible, compared with most places north. I guess last year, with all that snow you had, even the SLV got buried a couple of times. How you you feel about this season? More, less, or the same as last year... which was allot last year? Gord
@GrandAdventure10 ай бұрын
@@gorrdd we're off to a fairly normal start. It'll be tough to top the 903" that fell in the mountains last year. Down here in the Valley even last year, 3-4" was a big storm, although we got one or two of ~ a foot. There's a remarkable difference between the Valley and the mountains ~25 minutes away, which is what makes Salt Lake City such a livable ski town.

All true, but that does nothing to affect how we feel about that area. Most places across this country have their own set of unique quirks.
