** New video next Friday and every Friday after that!! **
I'm re- releasing this video as the original had poor quality sound. I answer several interesting questions after having completed 7800 Nautical miles on the open ocean and 105 days solo on the high seas. Fellow Contessa 26 owner, Tyler Noiles drops by Wave Rover and asks a few questions as I put him to work holding the camera (awesome job Tyler). I also explain how the videos that you see are often weeks behind, and how the upcoming videos, which I think are really interesting, will be released in sequence. I wish you all fairwinds and stay tuned to Sailing Wave Rover.

I'm still learning about editing and how to improve the sound in my videos. This video is a big improvement(although not perfect) over the original video. I thought it was important to change it out as I received a lot of comments saying how the content was great but the sound was difficult to hear.

These videos are extremely encouraging and informative. A real wealth of knowledge. If one watches all your videos in the series they are full of useful tips. Really to the point and very useful to any cruiser. The editing of the videos are very enjoyable too! Well done and please keep up the good work! Looking forward to your future videos!

It looks like you left the original arch to the hatch intact then cut out the original cabin top forward about 24-30 inches for the doghouse. Is that about right? Also looks like you have a good 4 inches of headroom. I'm wondering what your reasons of the extra headroom are and would you do the same again? Great Q&A video.

Yes, I kept the arch for strength and 4in of head room for a short sailor like me is about right. Thanks for watching

Good video mate, very informative. I like the idea of the doghouse, would like something similar when I finally manage to get a yacht myself. That and the fact that you can have the other hatch open under the dinghy. Anyway, looking forward to the next video as you take us back onto the journey. Cheers for now mate... ;-}

Hi Alan, thanks for this most informative video about Wave Rover and many of the excellent improvements to the vessel. About the audio, I tend to use the closed caption on the playback feature, and helps to fill in some of the more challenging audio content, I suppose some type of blue tooth enabled microphone would be nice, but the financial aspect would not be too practical. I really like your glassing over the hull/deck joint, on all of my sailboats, that has always seemed to be problematical. In the 60's or early 70's Hal Roth did that to Whisper and solved his problems. The cutting out of the toe rail for scuppers is another one of your excellent ideas, the manufactures always seem to place them at the wrong position. I like the idea of using white oak, very strong and more rot resistant than red oak, and the epoxy coating and fiber-glassing offer long term service in the marine environment One question I do have when you talk about fiber-glassing over items, are your using epoxy resin and glass cloth, or are you using polyester resin that was used in the original manufacture of your boat? Epoxy resin bonds better to cured fiberglass than polyester resin does, but costs more. Thoroughly enjoy your videos and look forward to those to come.

Great comment Don. I always use epoxy on all my rebuilds, as for the price, it was one of the big expenses of the project.
