What a beautiful job you have done of bringing Little Wing forward into the next phase of her life! Bravo! She's a stunner! The color scheme is so sweet! It was interesting to see a snapshot of trial colors going on her during the restoration. Thanks so much for bringing us along with you on this journey. You are an inspiration as I look ahead to the responsibilities I have for the boats in my care! All the best!

I always hated drawing a dinghy. Almost fell totally overboard trying to adjust a dinghy painter … I held that painter very hard and recovered from an inadvertent jibe on a schooner going downwind CHEERS. The electric motor is a dream. I always hated outboard engines. OMG a printed chart. Do you know how few people have printed charts anymore? 21:09… now it’s getting interesting. She looks good going to weather. I assume that the shore has deep water around it. Is this in Tasmania? 1/2 Knot lost with 2 reefs … getting more interesting. Impressive. You folks are grand. CHEERS … I’ll pour.

As much as I like smart little boats. most of them are just as good as they can be for the cheaper price range of a small boat. Little Wing is a grown up little boat. I would be able to sail a sturdy rig like that around the world …. 50 years ago. Alas, until I find competent, imaginative boat builders near me, I will have to be content with dreams while looking at three cruiseships docking in the St. Thomas VI harbor. I still have time. PM a good solution, please! 4-5 knots is grand. Cool.

I think the layout of little wing is the best I have seen in a compact sailboat . Are there plans for this gem?
Two more thoughts. Beating to windward makes the sailor and outboard chain plates rule. Losing a couple of degrees to windward is no great loss. Paul in Canada

Interesting. What is the draft. I didn't see previous posts. I live next to a marina and a river in Port Alfred. Once saw a design many years ago which had minimum draft but a retractable keel and 2 small side keels. Was a hard chine built with plywood

So just to get an idea, what would be the cost of hiring someone who knows what they're doing to build this beauty for you assuming you'd be on hand to help? The outboard motor well and it being electric makes it so incredibly appealing. I assume that motor would take forever to charge using solar panels and it only makes sense plugged in while moored at a dock with electricity. Can you carry spare charged batteries for the motor?
@SmallCraftTasmania-ms4sx5 ай бұрын
Hi there. Cost to build is not something we can answer because there's many variables. Electric is the way to go. Yes, we use solar charging - takes about 12hrs to replenish but we also keep a spare battery onboard. FYI - this boat will be for sale soon if you're located in Australia. Thanks for watching.

@@SmallCraftTasmania-ms4sx Thanks for the reply, I'd be interested for sure if I lived in Australia but I'm in Spain.
