So, I'm one of the guys who listens to these podcasts to the bitter end, every time. In general, I go for your podcast or BTS content before I watch your polished videos... not sure why. I'm a graphic/UI designer, so I appreciate seeing the process and personalities behind your work. I especially love the podcast -- I've gained so much respect for you all by hearing you discuss big topics on the podcast. You all are super nuanced when discussing everything from art to politics and history. I'm a big fan of Jake -- I usually agree with him on everything haha. Anyways, (personally) I don't see much use for the new website yet... I get all I need from KZbin at the moment. And the UI isn't polished enough for me to want to dive in. Visually, I feel like your online store represents your visual brand better than the website. But I understand it's just a first iteration!

I agree on the UI of the site, it feels very cluttered and could do with being more minimalist. The videos on the site are better quality than YT though & you do get them at least a couple of hours earlier than on YT, not that I think that's very useful though. The other upside is there are some videos that are only on the site & not on YT, so that's a bonus. Plus, the biggest reason to use the site is simply to support them directly instead of giving them a fraction of penny per view. They'll be able to make more & better videos which will give us better content in return.

Hello. I might be a bit late to respond but I just heard this full episode and I really felt like responding. I'm Carlos, a 24 years old struggling artist from Chile. I'm one of those guys that's been following you guys from very early on. The first video I remember watching of you was a Modern Wardare inspired peace that you made, where you were a couple of agents doing a mission on a snowy place, I remember I loved that so much. And you (along with others of course) were one of my main inspirations at the moment of choosing filmmaking as a pursuit. Years later today, I don't know if my mind is in the same place, time passes, life throws you curve balls, and I'm having a hard time figuring out how to proceed, but you always been there, grinding it, putting out great content, and always are a huge inspiration when it comes to how you can succeed as artist by doing what you love, having fun and being disciplined. I just heard of your website and for sure I'll be suscribing, not much of a content watcher these days, but I'll happily suscribe in a form of gratitude for all these years of great content, fun moments and inspiration that you've provided for us the audience. One last thing, in terms of what I think would be really cool to see you guys do. I still remember, I don't remember exactly when, but I remember with quite accuracy the feeling I got when you dropped that teaser for a project called "Tether". I don't even remember how the video went, but I remembered I loved that so much and thougth "Oh man Corridor is going to make the best movie/show ever and I'm so ready for it", and then it not existing was quite a bummer. I don't know what happened to that project, and I know a bunch of stuff can happens with projects like that, but if you're entering a realm where you now can have some more freedom in terms of the content you can choose to do, watching you follow up on that would be incredilbe exciting. God bless, Keep up the great work, and Greetings from the South!!!

You should make an official announcement (video) about the website, I think it will get more people involved. Mentioning the impact a thousand members can have on the business will trigger your most loyal viewers to join. Things I want to see on the website: - Videos that you would not be able to post on youtube. - Interaction, maybe a live Q&A/AMA, members only of course. - Different tiers of membership, you pay more, you get more crew points. - Sneak previews - Pre orders / early acces (1 week maybe?) on store items, it really sucks when your favorite item is out of stock before you had a chance to think about it.

Niko's and Jake's points on what a subscription is worth in terms of number of videos watched convinced me to become a patron. Despite being a fan for more or less since the start of Corridor Digital, I can't say I've watched your videos 1000 times cumulatively, yet I have remained highly entertained and a fan for like decade or thereabouts. It was a very convincing framing for me. Perhaps consider a patron/website push on the crew channel once quarantine is over and frame things to people that way. Hopefully you'd see an uptick in numbers. The only reason I am not particularly inclined to use the website regularly is that my preference is to centralise where I get my videos from as much as possible. It's nothing against your website in particular, this would probably apply to any creator I follow.
@brianhino864 жыл бұрын
2 things that would make me subscribe. 1) Provide a platform for artists to display their work, you have a huge fan base that you can turn into a community 2) Tutorials & Q&As would be very attractive also.

I love the idea of the site. I am a big fan of Patreon (and sites like it) because I love to support creators I am genuinely excited about (and getting extras for those creators is nice). Now for most creators a Patreon is fine, because it is a general "I support what you do, keep doing it!" but for y'all have several styles (even just on the Crew channel). These corridor coins to put to specific and possibly niche Corridor content is a wonderful idea. I understand that as much as you guys are just people making cool stuff, you also have to take into account will it make money and let you to continue to make cool content. So I am all on board, I just haven't signed up yet, I was mainly waiting for the coin / tokens to be implemented. p.s. I love the inside baseball stuff and company specific stuff. Of the stuff you talk about on the podcast it is my favorite.

On the subscribing part what Niko touched on ; Im not really on board with the current payment options, now I realise im probably one of the few people who doesnt have accounts everywhere but as it is I dont see myself setting up a payment method for my Google account just to subscribe to a website I need to go to instead of a app I can easily get to on my phone. I feel like that's going to be really hard on jake. My dads an electrician and he would go out of town for WEEKS, when I was young. While I personally didn't mind or notice, it took a huge toll on my mom. A very realistic scenario is something happens to your kids and they have to go to the hospital but you're half way across the country. You'd like to be there for them, but you can't. A real scenario that happened to my mom, was the bank randomly audited them. They lost a bunch of money, she had to live off of 50$ for 2 weeks with 2 kids and my dad was a state away.

@@JakeWatson I don't think Jake's gonna leave Corridor. He might move back because it would be hard but nahhhh if I ever got a chance on Corridor I'd glue myself to that studio. I just wanted to warn him as someone who lives with a father known for leaving for weeks at a time. Things will go wrong and his family will have to learn to wait until he gets back to fix anything. Another example would be we had a storm that knocked out power for a few days but the only one of us that knows how to work a generator for the house was gone.... You guys inspire a lot of people to get into film making. So I think those are the main people that would happily give you money if you provide them with more content that'll help them learn and improve. Lessons and tutorials on film making, and even what equipment you use, where to buy them, how to set them up and how to use them. And more importantly, since most people are gonna be hobbyists, what budget options are there? It doesn't even have to be this completely new thing. It could just be like Corridor Crew videos where you show your process, except it's more in depth and more informative. I think most people who just watch are gonna stick to KZbin for convenience. So capitalizing on that small but next level audience is probably the way to go.

To answer Wren's question - I love the inside baseball talk. An in-depth tutorial series would definitely be something I would sign up for. Something similar to a Videocopilot tutorial with Wren would be worth the subscription fee alone! However, I thought I'd share my honest reservations with subscribing to a Corridor membership. Which is (at present) there's no guarantee of what content is going to be there. If I knew for definite what was going to be available, I'd be more inclined to subscribe. Which is why the credit system does not necessarily appeal to me. (I could be alone on this though) Keep up the great work and stay safe over this crazy time!
