I will always prefer the original lineup...that being said, I went to the Hartford show with my adult kids and girlfriend, and it was my daughter's boyfriend's first Kiss show. Everyone had fun, and watching his face was priceless. He's hooked. My older sister went, it was her first Kiss show. She was crying. She said the memories of me at 7 with the Destroyer album all flooded back. And, it was the most bombastic stage show Kiss has ever done. If you go, go to have fun, because it is fun.

First off, you guys are AWESOME!!! Best KISS channel on KZbin hands down! Having said that, I've been a KISS fan since I was 8 years old back in 1976, and a bassist of 39 years now. Dressed to Kill is my favorite album. I saw every KISS show in the 80s, 90s and 2000s starting with the Creatures tour 1983 at the Worcester, Mass Centrum. I was at the show in Hartford, CT with my girlfriend, and it was AMAZING!! This was definitely my favorite performance with this lineup which, if I'm being honest, was never really a fan of, but I'm also not a HATER! There was something in the air on this night as the audience and band were in SUPER DUPER fun mode. I took some great pictures, but, like Mark, really just tried to enjoy the show. I strongly recommend people to go check out this show, you won't regret it. ROCK ON!!!

Paul’s guitar tech is TJ... He’s a good friend of mine. We’re both from the same city in Canada, the city that rhymes with fun... Regina Saskatchewan! I know his family really well and they are very proud of him. They’ll be stoked to know he got mentioned and a shout out on this show!
@Rivin51912 жыл бұрын
Hey Tommy, TJ here. To quickly chime in since it popped up. I did a couple of EDM shows over Covid but LOTS of R&R and Country touring as a guitar tech before that. Being in the KISS camp was a big help. For the Paul guitars as mentioned. I wanted to make sure that as soon as I got asked to tech for the SA run that I got down to the warehouse to measure all of the setup specs on every guitar to be able say with certainty how Fran setup Paul's guitars. Mostly relief and saddle height, so that when I hand a guitar to Paul, it feels the exact same in his hands as it would if Fran had set it up. That was SUPER important to me, to make sure that his memory and essence is still in the camp and that I do the guitars and microphone wrap EXACTLY how Francis would have done it. Cheers and thanks for the shoutout.

I have always said what Michael said during this show, as it's the band itself, not the people in the band, as I compared it to my favorite sports teams, as the faces or members may change, but it's the band/team and the music that matters most of all. It's rare that bands stay together for any length of time, due to ego's or health issues, so just enjoy the band and music, otherwise you'll miss out on a lot of great concerts, whether it's KISS, AC/DC, Guns 'N' Roses or whoever. Great show guys !!!!

Great show guys and I hope KISS hits western Canada for EOTR tour. That being said… KISS rocks(all eras,all past and present members). And to see Gene come out for the pre soundcheck party in a robe is bad ass! To see Paul interact with people and especially kids is true love to all fans big or small!
@TitanicHorseRacingLover2 жыл бұрын
That had to have been fun seeing Gene in that robe. He did his meet and greets in the robe.

KISS today are KISS today you either Accept or you Don't, Listen or Don't...everyone has their Opinion of what Line-Up you prefer and that's Fine. I just don't understand when there are those that try to convince you to think as they do...and if you Don't your WRONG. Seriously it's just ones Opinion that's all. I still have my Mego Dolls, Crazy Nights is in my Fave Album and have Sonic Boom playing in the Car...KISS to me is KISS...Nuff Said Great Show Fellas

Went to the Raleigh NC show. Great show. There was a hiccup on Love Gun. They lost power to the amps for 10secs. It felt longer.....lol. Not beating a dead horse.....there was vocals piped in for Paul on at least 4-5 songs. Took my daughter and we had a great time. Great show guys.

took my girlfriend to the Hartford Connecticut show. it was her first time seeing Kiss in concert and she loved it. my only complaint is, what is the fascination with "Say Yeah" being in the setlist? it's not a great song and nobody reacts to it. personally I can't stand the song but that's my only gripe!
@Pamplemousse823222 жыл бұрын
That was the song we went to the bathroom during. But I have to say, the setlist covered the eras well, for all types of fans. So I understand why it was in the set. Case in point, my son went crazy during Psycho Circus. Not my fave, but it makes sense to me.
@mattbrood12 жыл бұрын
@@Pamplemousse82322 everyone in my area just stood there or sat down during that song. Maybe Modern Day Delilah would have been a better choice because it was a single, but I don't think any song from the last two albums would get much of a reaction. I totally agree though they're trying to cover all eras of the band. Overall the setlist was decent and we had a blast!

I'd rather see Tommy Thayer have a lead vocal.
@saultrockcity2 жыл бұрын
I never understood why they chose that song either, as I'd rather hear another older classic or even Outta This World or Lightning Strikes with Tommy on lead vocals. Other than that, I had no issues with the setlist in Toronto when I saw them. I just wish they would play another show there, but they're done in Canada.

I was at the Dayton show. Actually, the Dayton show was postponed 3x. The original date due to the pandemic, the makeup date, due to Paul and Gene getting COVID and the 3rd time, due to Fran's tragic passing. I attended Dayton and I had a great time. The band looked like they were enjoying the show, and such, but I did sense a bit of a pall over the show. I had the honor and the pleasure to meet not one, but 2 Tommys at the Dayton show. First, I want to start by mentioning that my friend Adam Stuart bought me a Tommy Thayer meet and greet for the Dayton show as a gift. If I recall, I think 3 Sides had Dr. Stuart as a guest at the very beginning of the pandemic in an episode about the future of concerts. Anyway, I was waiting my turn to meet Tommy Thayer, I saw Mr. Tommy Sommers and he was awesome. We are friends on Facebook and it was awesome to meet finally. The Tommy Thayer meet and greet was awesome. He signed the guitar and everything I had. He was so kind. I got to hug him. He is really sweet person. I got photos with him and such. Make no mistake, I am KISS fan of all the lineups and I always will prefer the original lineup and Ace will always be my favorite, but this is the current KISS lineup. People need to appreciate them while they are here. It's a fun show.

Hi 3 sides Big fan My order of Kiss guitarist who contributed the most to the band while in there term…. Ace , Vinny , Bruce , Tommy…. Mark I remember this conversation From pass show and I Think it was Ace , Bruce , Vinny and then Tommy … …. Mark Listen personally Vinny is probably the hardest person to work with … we all know the story’s …. BUT if your writing songs that the Band still plays and made lots of fans and money with thru the years then I have to beg to differ that Bruce being just basically a hired side guy guitarist very good very solid but not contributing more then Vincent in my book. Who saved Kiss who knows but in my opinion Vinny takes 2nd in contributing
@jblooz23712 жыл бұрын
Honestly, guest or no guest, agenda or not. Just listening along to the conversation still makes for a great show. It still fits the premise of the original idea. A bunch of friends sitting at the bar talking KISS. Always great.

Great show! BUT I have to correct Mark on his take on Death Metal, the whole burning of churches in Norway was the acts of BLACK metal bands, and it was pretty much done by one group ( Mayhem, there is a pretty mainstream movie that came out about the whole timeframe called Lord's of Chaos thats good and worth a watch) the murder as well was members of that same group DEATH metal is basically the bigger tougher version of THRASH metal and started with Bands out of Florida and New York. Even Testament dabbled in DEATH metal with there albums Demonic and The Gathering. DEATH metal has the more " cookie monster" vocals and Chugging riffs where as BLACK metal is a blend of the band Bathory / punk rock and European Folk music. It has the " Ring Wraith " style vocals and international bad production. As a fan of both genres I thought I would explain the difference, DEATH metal bands are generally made up of Beer loving Horror movie fans who love stupid comedy as none of them really take what there singing about seriously ( much like the thrash guys ) . The BLACK metal guys .....well they can be a bit intense but 99.99% of the time harmless. All that dumb stuff happened 30 years ago, it's not a fair reflection on extreme metal .
@rodrigocardoso71192 жыл бұрын
And the Godfathers of Black Metal ( Venom) and Death Metal ( Possessed and Chuck Schuldiner of Death) were huge Kiss fans. Some critics even say that God of Thunder is the first Black Metal song ever. Venom lyrics are totally on that vibe. There's also a memorial video for Chuck here on youtube that shows some super 8 recordings he did when he saw the band in 77 or 78. He always credited Ace as the reason he pick up a guitar. So it's Kiss "fault" these genres exist!😆
@andysalter71922 жыл бұрын
@@rodrigocardoso7119 yeah Death did a " cover " of God of Thunder , which is really just the band jamming it at Rehearsal, Entombed also did a pretty kick ass cover of it ! Death are in my top 10 favourite bands of all time not just metal bands, they didn't write a second of bad material, in fact I think they just got better! RIP Chuck ......

I was exactly one month ago at the show in Argentina, with the meet and greet, there were somo good moments, couple of bad and one ugly moment, but overall it was a incredible experience, travel to another country for a KISS show has to be on the top of the best things that could be done for a fan, as I wrote on the facebook page, I felt like a 12 year old for a day

@diegueinsc2 жыл бұрын
@@johnmichalski3402 well this my personal opinion compared to the another show I was back on 2015 on the south american leg on my hometown, the bad not enough pyrotechnics, just the basic explotions, no pryo at the end during god gave rock and roll to you, (on 2015 the pyro was brutal strong and loud and at the end was amazing) fewer pods than others shows of the tour. And the ugly the meet and greet, the organization was not well handled, I met couple of people and we did not know were to go to the meet and greet and no one in the staff could help us, later we were instructed to go behind the stage for the shot, sadly there were the acrilic wall in between the band, and it was dissapointing since the band was taking pictures with fans back at the hotel with zero social distance, the other thing there were supposed to give us a signed photo of the band and no photos just the pass and a gene guitar pic, later an email came saying they will ship the signed photo, other thing the promo code included on the meet and greet just arrive couple days ago and there are no sings of the photo with the band. but as I said before overall the show was amazing the band sounded great, the people I met was so nice it was my first experience outside my country, the vibe of the argentinian fans was brutal, the videos do not do justice how electrifing it felt. the bonus was the live stream so when I came home I was screaming "I was there, look my back can be seen during I was made for loving you"
@TitanicHorseRacingLover2 жыл бұрын
@@diegueinsc Hi. I have been reading many stories about how fans were disappointed with how the meet and greets were handled. Some are complaining about the quality of photos, the band's looking uninterested, and Tommy's wearing a robe, due the cold. I am glad you loved the concert and I felt like a teenager too at Dayton.
