W.A.S.P. have been consistently been putting out excellent music since the 90s. Some of their very best work, in fact. Unlike the vast majority of bands that got big in the 80s. Albums like 'The Neon God', 'Dying For The World', 'Babylon' and 'Golgotha' are amazing.

Blackie is right I was doing gigs back in the 60's to 90's in the NYC area there were over 350/400 bars or clubs offering live music 4 nights a week . I could do 200 gigs a year for 25 years , besides being on the road opening concerts for people like Edgar Winter , David Bowie , Cream , Humble Pie , but today a musician has no place like Blackie was talking about to learn how to perform in front of a live audience . Its sad Back in the 80's I know guys were doing 200 wedding a year , today that work is nearly gone . Its tough on musicians . The best thing to do as a musician any instrument , just get a You tube channel and just play you might get heard by somebody that could help you succeed in the business ,

One of them being could a portion of the Setlist be dedicated to deep tracks such as Shadow Man or the masterpiece damnation angels. The Idol is my personal favorite and included with the CD was the DVD movie. I wish someone would ask Blackie if he could develop the Crimson Idol into a full length screenplay. he is the most gifted songwriter of my generation. And be assured that we will be at the Tempe Arizona and St. Louis Missouri shows. And thank you three sides of the coin and Blackie For such a stellar interview. When I saw them, Metallica opened for them. It was also my 20th birthday that day. He poured the blood from the skull on himself and then on the front row crowd too. He threw the raw meat and later some posters of the band too into the crowd.

Chris Oliva was a beast of a player and died way too young. Also there's really no one I haven't seen either from the 80's , I was lucky enough to be in the pit for Slayer's farewell tour in 2019 with Phil Anselmo and the illegals opening , along with Primus and Ministry. Phil played the whole set of Pantera songs which was cool. I enjoyed your interview with Blackie. As a long time fan of WASP and someone who introduced my son to them, it was fun to hear his perspective on so many topics. I have to admit that I was disappointed by his position that there are no new rock frontmen worth seeing. The premise is flawed if the argument is based on today’s bands not playing enough shows to get their stage performance right. Your silence about that was a bit disappointing, as well. Still love the show. 🤘🏼🖤
@MichaelBrandvold2 жыл бұрын
What silence? I personally was part of that discussion and agree that experience playing shows is what helps turn someone into a great frontman.
@ChrisBiersack5132 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelBrandvold Today’s most popular hard rock and metal bands play plenty of shows. I might have misinterpreted what Blackie was saying, but, it sounded like there’s no great rock frontmen anymore because they don’t have the chance to hone their stage craft like the “good old days.” I fear that you’re missing my point. My disappointment was that you failed to counter with “Have seen Black Veil Brides? Andy Black? Falling In Reverse? Ronnie Radke? Bring Me The Horizon, Oli Sykes?”Considering that Andy Black has appeared on 3 Sides several times and is a friend of Tommy Sommers, going along with the “they don’t make them like they used to” narrative is not what I’d expect from you guys. Having said that, I don’t expect much from most these days. 😉
