W.A.S.P. have been consistently been putting out excellent music since the 90s. Some of their very best work, in fact. Unlike the vast majority of bands that got big in the 80s. Albums like 'The Neon God', 'Dying For The World', 'Babylon' and 'Golgotha' are amazing.

I've been a huge W.A.S.P. guy since around '95. Last I seen them was in '97 or '98 on the K.F.D. tour. I think Blackie has one of the best minds in the business. I could probably spend an entire month picking his brain on everything.

Hey Three Sides this was an AWESOME EPISODE!! Blackie really surprised me...he was very insightful, down to earth and funny. I loved hearing his thoughts on performing, and how he views himself and the audience. Also some of the things he quoted that Gene and Paul said to him gave me goosebumps. Really glad u guys had him on and I wish him nothing but the absolute best for the upcoming W.A.S.P tour!!

Blackie is right I was doing gigs back in the 60's to 90's in the NYC area there were over 350/400 bars or clubs offering live music 4 nights a week . I could do 200 gigs a year for 25 years , besides being on the road opening concerts for people like Edgar Winter , David Bowie , Cream , Humble Pie , but today a musician has no place like Blackie was talking about to learn how to perform in front of a live audience . Its sad Back in the 80's I know guys were doing 200 wedding a year , today that work is nearly gone . Its tough on musicians . The best thing to do as a musician any instrument , just get a You tube channel and just play you might get heard by somebody that could help you succeed in the business ,

As a life long WASP fan I was very disappointed that the interview was so short. There are many questions that I wish there were time for. One of them being could a portion of the Setlist be dedicated to deep tracks such as Shadow Man or the masterpiece damnation angels. The Idol is my personal favorite and included with the CD was the DVD movie. I wish someone would ask Blackie if he could develop the Crimson Idol into a full length screenplay. he is the most gifted songwriter of my generation. And be assured that we will be at the Tempe Arizona and St. Louis Missouri shows. And thank you three sides of the coin and Blackie For such a stellar interview. I’d just like to add that I wish Mark could’ve been there.

The first time I saw W.A.S.P was at a club opening for Metallica and Armored Saint was also on the ticket. We paid $10 to get in and I was at the stage , Blackie came out of a giant skull throwing raw meat into the crowd. What a sick show , the Electric Circus tour was also insane!

When I saw them, Metallica opened for them. It was also my 20th birthday that day. He poured the blood from the skull on himself and then on the front row crowd too. He threw the raw meat and later some posters of the band too into the crowd.

@@markwilliams6394 Wow they opened for W.A.S.P. , that's cool I didn't know they switched it up. Those were definitely great times for metal , I'm actually supposed to go see W.A.S.P. and Armored Saint in August. @@markwilliams6394 Yeah I hear ya on that , I'm having a major neck surgery in a week and a half so I don't know what kinda condition I'll be in August. Hopefully I'll be recovered by then and able to enjoy it. Also I love Savatage , I saw them open for Nugent in the early 80's , they were a great metal band but severally underrated IMO! Chris Oliva was a beast of a player and died way too young. Also there's really no one I haven't seen either from the 80's , I was lucky enough to be in the pit for Slayer's farewell tour in 2019 with Phil Anselmo and the illegals opening , along with Primus and Ministry. Phil played the whole set of Pantera songs which was cool. Unfortunately W.A.S.P. hasn't played near me since the 90's for some reason and Armored never comes around either , definitely looking forward to seeing old school original metal bands again!

I enjoyed your interview with Blackie. As a long time fan of WASP and someone who introduced my son to them, it was fun to hear his perspective on so many topics. I have to admit that I was disappointed by his position that there are no new rock frontmen worth seeing. The premise is flawed if the argument is based on today’s bands not playing enough shows to get their stage performance right. Your silence about that was a bit disappointing, as well. Still love the show. 🤘🏼🖤

@ChrisBiersack513 2 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelBrandvold Today’s most popular hard rock and metal bands play plenty of shows. I might have misinterpreted what Blackie was saying, but, it sounded like there’s no great rock frontmen anymore because they don’t have the chance to hone their stage craft like the “good old days.” I fear that you’re missing my point. My disappointment was that you failed to counter with “Have seen Black Veil Brides? Andy Black? Falling In Reverse? Ronnie Radke? Bring Me The Horizon, Oli Sykes?”Considering that Andy Black has appeared on 3 Sides several times and is a friend of Tommy Sommers, going along with the “they don’t make them like they used to” narrative is not what I’d expect from you guys. Having said that, I don’t expect much from most these days. 😉

I never got to see W.A.S.P. with KIϟϟ, but having endured the visually boring "Blackie in a hockey sweater" era, I can't wait to see the band return to their classic form. And as far as the tragedy of Mr. Cicchini missing his chance to go full fanboy on Mr. Lawless, allow me to say this with all due love and respect, in the words of Mark's least favorite KIϟϟ t-shirt: "Fuck you, you blew it"!😂

"World Tour"? Does Wasp play something other than 200 seat clubs outside of the US?
@MichaelBrandvold
@MichaelBrandvold 2 жыл бұрын
Yes World Tour… US 2022, Europe 2023. And before you write something that makes you look like an idiot… research where the band plays and how large the venues are. Oh sorry, too late, you look like an idiot.

Re-Thumbs up from me 👍!! AEROSMITH ALERT ⚠️ in the 6th minute!! 'In the 6th minute, people!!' 'Would you look at the time ⏲️?' AEROSMITH ARMY REJOICE!! You don't have to sit through 20 minutes of 'If 'It's My Life' had of been on Creatures, been the first single and video 📹, it would have saved the makeup 💄!!' 20 minutes of why Cheap Trick isn't a stadium band? 20 minutes of Izzy's Gourmet Pasta from 7/11!! 20 minutes of Ralph, inappropriately hitting on The Weather Girl!! AEROSMITH ARMY, this is your moment!! No Gene, no Paul, no Eric, no Tommy = No problem!! Forget the KISS Army, you won 🏆!! Blue Kool-Aid Drinker. Peace ✌️ out from the Southern Tip of Vancouver Island 🏝, B.C. Canada 🇨🇦.

Well I hear what Blackie says about the poster thing and Ace, but I just don’t think it ever was the case. Maybe he remembers wrong. I would like to believe it was true since I’m an Ace guy, but I doubt it.

I totally believe it as I worked for KISS’ merch company in the early 2000s and I remember the McFarlane action figures… Ace was the best seller, followed very closely by Gene. Then came Gene and way behind was Peter.
