You probably realised from reacting to The Story of One Sky that Dimash shares the same anti war beliefs as you. What you probably don't know is that as he tours the world he carries that same message with him, giving a short anti war speech before he performs that song. He's also performed it in front of the Congress of World Religions, which was held by the leaders of all the major World Religions in Kazakhstan in 2022. Unlike most artists around the world, Dimash is highly respected by the politicians in that area of the world which has been torn by strife for centuries. Yesterday he was given an almost presidential greeting when he arrived in Uzbekistan and only a few weeks ago travelled back from China aboard the presidential plane with his country's president. He's been asked to give speeches on peace and racism and only two days before his Malaysian concert was given the University of Malaysia's highest award for his contribution to world unity through Performing Arts. His 6 minute speech at The Central Asian Media Forum is actually on his channel and although it's in Kazakh there are English subtitles hard subbed to the video. You might find it very interesting?

@@najwanahouli2841 An American, I grew up there and their culture is rich, dates from antiquity; and not something the average music fan is interested in. I just felt compelled for a change to say there is so much more to him, his family, than high notes and showmanship. He lives traditionally, the extended family under the same roof, they don't leave home until marriage and the men bring their brides home to live. She does not interact with her birth family for one year. I get tickled when his getting married is talked about. In his culture that is often years of negotiation, families in dialogue, never taken lightly. Her background must be impeccable, his as well. Dimash is "stubborn" his Mother laughingly says but I guarantee he'll marry someone the "whisperers" choose. They are all the women in the family who "whisper" to each other about who or what is best for the the children of the family. He was raised by his paternal grandmother, the custom of the first born male being presented to her. She and his birth mother will make the final choice.
